Milo Goes To College LP

Pretty much the underground pop-punk of the 80's, but not totally similar to the pop-punk of today because of the enormous American hardcore influences that can be heard. Pretty raw stuff. This is a fun album, and fun band and a good starting point if you don't have any Descendents music.

Holy Mountain
Entrails LP

A very aggressive album. For fans of Cursed, Curl Up and Die, or Tragedy. There really isn't another band out there like these guys. These folks are kind of D-Beat, kind of old school hardcore, kind of "aggressive punk/metal" (ie Converge and Cursed). They also pull out some sweet guitar solos to boot. A fusion of many styles played with passion has made this LP top-notch in my books.

Gorilla Biscuits
Start Today LP

A pretty decent hardcore album, and musically these guys are heavily influenced by Minor Threat. I'm trying to keep the review posi, but I just couldn't find anything that stood out on the album. Not to say that it is bad or anything, I just think GB are over-hyped.

Municipal Waste
Hazardous Mutation LP

Municipal Waste is one of the funnest bands I've heard in the past few years. Basically this is a modern DRI on crack. For fans of DRI, Mind Eraser, old Slayer, Toxic Holocaust and anyone who is down with thrashing. Their other two albums are great too, but this is my favourite.

Very good riot ska. Not the best though. Choking Victim, No Cash and "Fuck World Trade" are all worth picking up before this album. Not to say this is bad, because it is mostly very, very passionate, crusty and fun. I would just check out the other stuff first.
