Against Me!
New Wave CD

For anyone who is still wondering whether Against Me! sold out with "New Wave," I'd like to confirm it: the band has sold out. Despite the fact that they continue to poke fun at this in their songs, (Stop!, Piss and Vinegar, Up The Cuts), the processed guitars, November Rain drums and major league production have definitely dulled their edge for mass consumption. And surprisingly, it's pretty good. These songs still have the emotion and intensity of AM!'s previous work and overall, the album is more consistent than SFAFC. The highlights are the catchy radio single, Thrash Unreal, the rousing White People for Peace and the cryptic, calypso-influenced Ocean. They also manage to pull off the duet with Tegan, one of the most interesting things the band has ever recorded. Welcome to the new Against Me!

Fugazi -Furniture 7

Furniture 7"

This is a review with no words. It was made to be read by people. How many other records have never sat on the bookshelf gathering dust? Hey man, I know where you're coming from...classic Fugazi anthem, killer instrumental, manic Guy tune, what else do you want?

Flogging Molly
Within A Mile Of Home CD

Best album of the year. Much better than Drunken Lullabies and about equal to Swagger, only with a lot more variety. I don't think there was one song that I didn't like on this.

Common Rider -Thief In A Sleeping Town 7

Common Rider
Thief In A Sleeping Town 7"

Best stuff Jesse Michaels has done since Op Ivy. All four songs are awesome, three punk songs and one reggae song. Buy this now, this is fucking essential!
