Mr. T Experience
Alcatraz CD

A lot of people really hate this album....even MTX fans often disregard this album. I have to say though, it's not AS bad as people make it out to be. It's not classic MTX, it's very experimental and different, and took me several listens to eventually like it, but it's a solid attempt at something different for them. If you are a first time MTX listener, I would recommend "Love is Dead" or "..and The Women Who Love Them". Anyway, best tracks on this album include: "Tomorrow Is a Harsh Mistress", "Our Days are Outnumbered" and "We're Not No One".

Duet All Night Long Split CD

This is a really awesome concept, and both bands work really well with each other. I gave it 3 stars because that's the number of songs on this album that kick ass. Those songs are: Ask, Dress You Up, and Say Say Say. The other 3 tracks are not horrible but they just aren't as good as the ones I mentioned. Ask is an amazing cover, probably the best on this album followed closely behind by Dress You Up. I'm a pretty big fan of both these bands, and I would only recommend buying this if you like both bands, otherwise you probably won't enjoy it as much.

Lillingtons
The Too Late Show CD

Well, it appears this will be their last studio album...and while that is sad, I thought this CD was lacking something. What that "something" is I'm just not sure. This album doesn't have the catchy hooks that made "Death By Television" and "Shit out of Luck" such classics. Most of the songs are just ho-hum, the production quality is great and so are the lyrics for the most part. The only stand-out tracks in my eyes are, "All I Hear is Static" and "Mars Vs. Hollywood". This is a must have for any die-hard Lillington's fan ready to complete their collection, but definitely not a great starting place for somebody new to The Lillingtons.

WOW just WOW! This is essential starter kit for anyone wanting to learn more about The Vindictives. Almost every track on this disc is absolutely flawless. This is pop punk at it's absolute best. Some of their other albums are a bit too experimental for my taste (Hypno-Punk), but this one is just perfect in my eyes. I would recommend it to any fans of Screeching Weasel, The Queers, Manges, Sloppy Seconds, etc...

FINALLY! I've never been more excited for a single full length release in a LONG time. I was completely blown away by their EP, and could not wait to get my hands on this. After listening to it straight through a couple times, I was a little let down. There are some fantastic songs on this, but I probably kept my expectations a little too high for this one. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty damn good album, although it is a step-down from the EP. Even the two songs that they re-recorded from the EP, aren't quite as powerful. I still love this band, and hope to see a tour from them soon. Because frankly, The Falcon is far better than the Lawrence Arms...Brendan and the guys should just stick to this for a while.

Night Shift At The Thrill Factory CD

This is early MTX, before they really defined themselves. It could almost pass as a completely different band. When comparing this album to say "Alcatraz", there's little to no similarities...the only one being, the smart witty lyrics of Dr. Frank, which seems to present throughout the enitire MTX catalog. Anyway, as far as this record is concerened, it's not their best, but certainly a must have for any die-hard MTX fan. I listen to it occasionaly, but usually find myself skipping through most of the tracks. In the end, it gets a 3/5 stars from me!
