Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower
Love In The Fascist Brothel CD

This is one of the most classic noise-rock records of the decade!! Very extreme, very loud, very fun. The funky-jazzy beats shall drive you crazy! Intelligent music, chaotic rhythms, excellent sound (not so good production though). The singer sounds very young and very punk! The Plot brought back Fun and Chaos in the music scene. Everyone who loved in the past bands like the COWS and the JESUS LIZARD will love this too.

Blowtops
Insected Mind CD

I expected much more from this record. It's a lot different from their previous albums, a lot bluesier!! It sounds kind of flat! The whole band is much more controlled. I guess they tried to be more matured. There aren't so many crazy moments here and even the singer has a more "straight" approach this time. Even that way, he is great. One of the best singers today!! The excellent guitar sound remains and so is the incredible drummer but with no bass player and the absence of a second guitar the end result is an emptier sound but more atmospheric! This is a weird record and the fact is that there is no other band that can play blues-punk like the BLOWTOPS.

Black Elk CD

Impressive debute from these heavy noise makers. Screamy vocals, loud guitars. The music is very powerful and intelligent, not catchy though! This is a complex album with tempo changes, riffs, melodies and always extreme. Black Elk sound dark, angry and mean! There is also some psychedelic infuences like on the last song "who knew". What an excellent way to finish this amazing record. That song is pure magic! This is a band with a truly bright future.

Waiting For The Next End Of The World CD

J. Robbins has done it again. This is a DC classic. The Channels is one of the best bands the DC scene and Dischord records ever produced. Excellent guitar work from J. Robbins who is accompanied by a very intelligent rhythm section of bassist Janet Morgan and dynamic drummer Darren Zentek. All the songs are very melodic with great rhythms, riffs and enough power. I loved the male-female vocals. Great combination. The drummer is unbeatable! One of the best drummers ever. The Channels sound original and fresh.

Anavan CD

This is the definition of disco-punk. Get ready to dance!!! This music is made for a great party. You can dance to it, you can fell in love listening to ANAVAN and they can drive you crazy as well. I would love to see them become more noisy on their next album. More industrial. That would be interesting. They play shows with NO MEANS NO!!! Now, how cool is that?

Meth And Goats
Attack From Meth And Goats Mountain CD

Meth and Goats is one of the best new bands right now. They are somehow difficult to describe or categorize. Is this post-punk? Is this noise rock? Is this post-hardcore? Is this math rock? Is this emo-core? Maybe it's just Meth and Goats!!!!!! The music of this band is powerful, groovy and very intelligent. The sound is noisy and melodic, with amazing guitar work from Dennis Hockaday. He is an excellent guitar player with great sound and style. The rhythm section is brilliant with complex rhythms and incredicle power and the singer is very emotional. What else do you need??

Dead and Gone
T.V. Baby CD

Dead and Gone: amazing noise-punk band from California. Hardcore-punk + noise-rock= noise-punk!!! I have never heard a band like them. They created a new style which combines the fast paced rhythms of hardcore-punk with the blues elements that noise rock bands like LAUGHING HYENAS used to explore. The music is powerfull and very intelligent with tempo changes and creepy melodies. The atmoshere is very dark and pessimistic. There are no happy moments here! Singer Shane Baker sounds like a very angry and mean Darby Crash. Rockey Crane is probably the best guitar player in the last ten years. He now plays with YEAR FUTURE. Dead and Gone was an extrmely talented band that haven't had the recognition they deserved.

SNFU
In The Meantime And In Between Time CD

It has been over twenty years since SNFU were formed and they keep releasing great albums after all this time. This is a very strong come back. "In the meantime and between time" has all those elements that made SNFU popular and truly one of the best hardcore-punk bands: Power, intelligence, catchiness and Mr Chi Pig's unique vocals. It has to be said that his voice remains in excellent form. The new record sounds as vital as anything they released back in the eighties and nineties. I am sure that it won't dissappoint any of the older or the newer fans.

Parts And Labor
Stay Afraid CD

This is the most BRIGHT, MELODIC, and CATCHY noice-rock record EVER!!!!! Parts and Labor are capable of creating a sound that is extremely loud and noisy and at the same time very melodic and catchy. They are surely the most fresh sounding band. Every time that i'm listening to this album, i feel that i'm in heaven. The amount of positive energy that this record produces, is unbelievable. That's very rare and makes Parts & Labor one of the most unique and incredible new bands. Buy "stay afraid" and enjoy it. You shall have a great time listening to it. It's the most powerfull and entertaining album that i have heard in years and that's what's missing in the noise-rock.

Year Future
First World Fever CD

Year Future is one of the most incredible bands i have ever heard. Loud, tribal drums, noisy guitars combined with creepy melodies and above it the most unique vocalist since Jello Biafra!!!! The music is powerfull, intelligent, emotional, very melodic with an amazing atmosphere. YEAR FUTURE have all the elements of a BRILLIANT band: Rockey Crane is the best guitar player around, the rhythm section is the most powerfull and intelligent that i've heard in years and Sonny Kay has the most distinct voice and singing style. I have never heard a singer like him. So emotional, so powerfull, with a great unusual voice!! He is really unique, the BEST. And the music, those magnificent melodies, the atmosphere, it's pure magic. Also, the artwork is brilliant as well as the design of the cd. I believe it's a masterpiece. A CLASSIC album. Just buy it.
