the hollowpoints songs on this record dont really stand out from the rest of the songs on their full length, the black spot. but if you have heard that record then you would know that its not a bad thing at all. the hollowpoints dont know the meaning of the word "filler." these guys are the best new punk band i have heard in a while. theyre fast, heavy, and catchy as hell. i had never heard axes of evil before but they are pretty damn good too.
the hand screened jacket, insert, and tie dye vinyl are really sweet as well. buy this now, upon receipt place on turntable, then turn volume all the way up and rock out. but please make sure your walls are padded and all sharp objects are safely hidden away so you dont accidently hurt yourself.
it seems a bit superfluous for me to be reviewing this album because im sure youve all heard it or heard great things about it and if you havent youre missing out BIG TIME! this is the pinnacle of third wave ska. please please please buy this before streetlights reissure if you dont already have it. sure the recording is much better on streetlights disc but this is the original guys. catch 22's version sounds much more energetic and passionate, which im guessing is due to the fact that the songs were 8+ years old by the time tomas went back to the studio to record these songs for the new keasby nights. if catch were a radio band every single song on here could be a hit single, plus the white vinyl i got is super rad.
some of my favorite minor threat material. this record stands out a bit from the rest of minor threats recordings as it is a little slower and calmed down but still rocks plenty. if you dont own complete discography you got to get this and even if you do you still have to get this so you keep rockin long after that shiny little disc of yours gets all scratched up and craps out!
