Jack's Mannequin -Holiday For Real (Picture Disc) 7

Jack's Mannequin
Holiday For Real (Picture Disc) 7"

Great record from Andrew McMahon of Something Corporate. Features "Holiday from Real" on the A-side and two versions of "Kill the Messenger" (studio and live) on the B-side. Kind of expensive, but well worth the money. If you haven't you should check out the album "Everything in Transit" - it's golden!

Lanemeyer
Whispering Every Word Into A Smile CD

I'm not a huge fan of Lanemeyer, just thought I should get this cause it features members of Day At The Fair, who I love. Even though I don't really think the music deserves it, I'm still giving 3 stars, just cause this is a great collection of out-of-print stuff that you otherwise would have to pay a fortune for on eBay.

Here's the deal on what's on it: Tracks 1-7 are from the "Stories for the Big Screen" EP (and yes, track 7 is a U2 cover). Tracks 8-17 are the same songs as on "If There's a Will, There's Still Nothing", though track 9 is a demo version (not the one that was on the original CD). Tracks 18-20 are previously unreleased, though a different version of "Thursday" was on the Emanuel split vinyl, along with another version of "Grovers Corners".

Necessary
This Is Us CD

For those who don't know, The Necessary are now House of Fools and are signed to Drive-Thru Records. I wasn't too much into the demos I've heard of them so far, but this CD really got me pumped for their future full-length.

This album is one of the best CDs I've bought in the last months. It's really catchy, though not too similar to their new material. And it has yet to get old for me, it's been on constant rotation since I got it... which was yesterday.

Hawthorne Heights -Re-Issue: The Silence In Black and White CD/DVD

Hawthorne Heights
Re-Issue: The Silence In Black and White CD/DVD

I know it has become trendy to not like Hawthorne Heights, but I bought this completely open-minded and unbiased. However, this record honestly didn't do it for me. I bought this cause I liked the few songs I had heard from them, needless to say those were the only decent ones on the whole CD.

Also, the rather mediocre bonus tracks and the DVD don't really butch it up, at least not enough for me to not sell it on eBay a week after I received it.
