Get Up Kids
Eudora CD

ugh, what a waste of money! this is what one deems to be worthless crap, lumped together on one cd, with about 3 decent tracks and 14 that are simply filler. the get up kids are going downhill by the second...their newer stuff is just generic, emotionless, plastic pop. save your money and spend it on something worthwhile.

Further Seems Forever
Moon Is Down CD

Further Seems Forver could never be celebrated for being unique, or particularly groundbreaking for that matter...but who cares when they produce music that's just so damn enjoyable to listen to? The musicianship on this album is fantastic (the drumming in particular), the lyrics are well and truly above anything that Chris has done with Dashboard, and the vocals are faultless. This is exceptionally heartfelt rock, and a must for anyone who likes music that makes you feel something. (I'm actually giving it four and a half stars too, by the way)

Planes Mistaken For Stars
Fuck With Fire CD

Holy Moly! Planes are back, on, perhaps, a more appropriate record label, and with another collection of intsense yet melodic scremo core gems. Nothing really different from their first two releases, but hey, if it ain't broke...

Gloria Record
Gloria Record CD

I think the Gloria Record are an even cheesier, even soppier version of Mineral...and that's not good. Much of the intensity is gone, and without that it's just, well, whining really.

Wheat
Hope and Adams CD

I'm a little disappointed with this...it was made out to me as a profound work of musical genious, but all I hear is another alterna-pop group with ordinary at best lyrics. Perhaps the first album was better.

Silver Scooter/Cursive
Split CD

The Silver Scooter side isn't bad, but it was the Cursive side that I purchased this cd for...and I was not disappointed but by the length. The biggest problem with split EP's is that it is so rare to love both sides...(unless, of course, it is the Christie Front Drive/Boys Life split)...that said, the SIlver Scooter songs were certainly bearable, but whether or not this is worth the purchase for one band I am not quite sure.

Unwed Sailor
Faithful Anchor CD

Very nice all around...great use of percussion in particular. It is cd's like this which prove that true art communicates without the need for language. A nice purchase for all fans of indie rock.

Sunny Day Real Estate
LP2 CD

SDRE's best, with more emotion than 'How it feels...' and more depth than 'Diary'. Everyone should check out the concluding track 'Rodeo Jones', it is worth purchasing this cd for that track alone, the drumming is phenomonal. Oh, and one last thing kiddies, THIS is EMO, not dashboard confessional...so please make the required ammendmants in future.

Cursive -Burst And Bloom CD

Cursive
Burst And Bloom CD

The best release from this band, and not a moment too soon after the reasonably disappointing 'Domestica' album. This EP is the perfect blend between the slightly poppier stuff of 'Domestica', the emotion of 'Such blinding stars...', and the darkness of 'Storms of early summer', oh, and the introduction of a cello really adds resonance. Eagerly anticipating their next full length.
