This is an upbeat, anthem-filled album. Personally, I think Mike's voice works better with the Street Dogs than with Dropkick Murphys. I saw them in October with Flogging Molly and they were great! I bought their CD and actually like them more now that I've had a chance to listen to their CD a few times.
This has a very different sound from their other CDs. I think a lot of it is they're trying to discover their sound and they've apparently had a hard time finding a drummer. Joey does an awesome job covering vocals, guitars and percussion on this. I love the cover art on this album; it was inspired from a 40s'-era propeganda poster, and I think it fits the album well.
The only bad thing about this CD is that it's short. All of the songs are awesome, and it's a good CD to get if you like The Briggs. I first saw these guys with Flogging Molly and Street Dogs, and was so impressed I ordered their CDs the next day. I look forward to their next album.
This isn't a bad CD. The sound quality isn't that great, and the music seems a little off at times. However, the flavor and energy of a live Flogging Molly set is completely captured. I recommend this CD to die-hard fans; the average music lover won't find much to appreciate here.
