Rancid
Rancid (1993) CD

Even without Lars in the crew Rancid still rocks as hard as ever. Without a doubt this has to be Rancids rawest album. Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman speed through the songs like a bullet train (although nothing is as fast as on Rancid V)and even though Brett Reeds drums seem to slow them up a bit the songs still sound great. It is definetly less poppy than there other releases to date and it lacks the roots guitar riffs of Lars but its still a killer album. Great album all together and well deserving of a 5

Catch 22
Keasbey Nights CD

A pretty good straight ska album. Catch-22 really does'nt do anything that amazing or different that you could'nt find on a early Bosstones album or a Less than Jake album. But it is fun to listen to and I have certainly heard alot worse ska.

Rancid -Rancid 7

Rancid
Rancid 7"

This 7 inch is really quite a deal. 4 and a half bucks for 5 blistering Rancid can't be beat. I would'nt recommend it for someone just getting into Rancid but its a must have for a Rancid fans record collection.

Nerve Agents
Butterfly Collection CD

A really great CD. You can practically picture the Nerve Agents jumping around the stage like maniacs and thrashing on their guitars while you are listening to this. Their style is a great mix of punk, hardcore and gothic leanings without sounding forced or anything. Truly one of my favs.

Choking Victim
Squatta's Paradise/Crack Rock Steady Split CD

This is the way Choking Victim is suppose to sound. I always though CV's No Gods/No Managers albumn was a little too overproduced, but on this split no such complaint. The sound quality is a little shitty at times but that just brings out the bands great satanic ska sound. Songs like "Infected" and "Apple Pie and Police State" sound perfect with the minimalistic recording style and real hammers home the bands anit-authority message. Bottom Line: No Gods/No Managers is a Good Albumn this is a damn good albumn.

GBH
City Baby Attacked By Rats CD

OK there is raw and then there is this albumn. Colin's raspy vocals mix perfectly with the bands fast and furious punk-metal riffs. The albumns dirty lyrics, speed freak rifts and pure rawness (did I mention this albumn is pretty raw,) make it a must have for any UK punk fan. Hell this is a must have for any punk fan. This is GBH in all there majesty, and oh what a majestic think it is.

Minor Threat
First Demo Tape (1980 - 1983) CD

Nothing really that amazing bout this EP. All the songs on it have already been released by Minor Threat (on their first self-titled EP) but these songs do have a little bit different sound to them. All in all a good record for a die-hard Minor Threat Fans collection but not a must have.
