Creep Division/I Want Out
Split CD

Awsome record. The Creep Division songs are crappy as hell and a lot of fun, although some of them are rather short. I Want Out sound more like a real band and make this piece of plastic worth buying. You can't really go wrong with a split record where Chuck Platt plays in both bands.

Creep Division - sloppy hardcore with the most ridiculous vocals I've ever heard provided by Craig Ahead (Sick of it all)

I Want Out - decent punk tunes from old washed up punker types.

Good Riddance
Bound By Ties Of Blood And Affection CD

Good Riddance never fail to impress me, they have a way of renewing themselves on every record that they put out. You can't quite put your finger on what it is, but something always seems fresh and new.

The record starts off with the burst of energy that is 'made to be broken' and stays interesting 'till the very end. As usual you've got hardcore songs, melodic numbers and a good mix of the two. My impression is that this record is generally faster than the last full length 'symptoms of a leveling spirit' which featured some slower hardcore songs. The mid-tempoed (and great) songs are still there, but some ridiculously fast songs adds another dimention to the record. The song writing is good, there's a great variety in the sound. The band show a lot of enthustiasm and play tight as ever. (No longer new) drummer Dave Wagenschutz shows great skill and plays the drums in a really agressive way, he gives the band something extra that I felt was lacking on last record. Lyrically the songs vary from well written political material to more personal politics and somewhere right between.

Good Riddance are not backing down and this might be their best record to date, pick it up. Thanks for the attention.

this stuff is excellent. Michelle's voice is really furious and she does some great fucking screaming, while there is no melody in the "singing" you'll find plenty of it in Dave's guitar riffs and Derek's bass lines and Justin really pumps up the energy behind his drumkit. It makes an amazing contrast. Lyricwise, this EP also rocks, the songs vary between downright political stuff thru deeper and more personal issues. The metallica cover at the end is of course totally killer too, like Dave said himself, it should be appearant that he is no metal guitarist so the solos are lacking but Hiretsukan's version is still 10 times better in my mind. And there's nothing more fun than showing this to die hard metallica fans "what...a girl is singing metallica.....noooo" hehe, feckers.

anyway, in short...buy this or be a hiretsukan (bastard) Too bad this band broke up.

A Guided Tour of Chicago CD

this album features some nice hooks and cool lyrics....but theres one big problem...most of the songs sound the same..after the 3rd song....theres really nothing new....another (not necicerally bad) thing...the geeter seems to be out of tune most of the time ..there is better stuff out there

Dillinger Four/Pinhead Gunpowder -Split 7

Dillinger Four/Pinhead Gunpowder
Split 7"

I bought this for the 2 Dillinger Four songs (both kicked ass) even tho i dont really like Pinhead Gunpowder i thought their 3 songs were rather cool (one of em being really short)

its simple...if you like D4 go by the 7"...if you like Pinhead Gunpowder....go by the 7"....if you like em both..well what are you waiting for...go buy the furken 7"....and its relatively cheap

by the way...the two D4 songs are not on their rare songs compilition "this shit is genious"

Good Riddance/Kill Your Idols
Split CD

here's the deal ..the Good Riddance songs rule...the KYI ones suck shite (ruined by extremely uncreative and boring singing..i swear that guy sings one tone thru the 3 songs)

woulda liked more GR songs..oh well, i guess the 4 (good) songs make the cd worth the money...but only barely
