No Wings To Speak Of CD

I actually bought this record for my best friend Mike for Christmas, and we listened to it together. The results were disastrous in the best kind of way. I wept my little emo eyes out. All of my hardcore pretensions melted away with my tears of sadness, loneliness and regret. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard, brutally hardcore at points, but with its sad little heart always overflowing with painful emotion. It pulls at my heartstrings like nothing I've ever heard. I own "The Satellite Years" but this record kicks its ass. And with only four songs, that's saying something. Brilliance!

Loser's Intuition CD

I actually bought this CD for by best friend because we are big Nora fans and have seen them twice. But trust me, I am qualified to write this because he burned me a copy. This is one of the best records I have. Nora owns you. They are one of the best metalcore bands around. And they're from Jersey, sparking my Jersey pride. And they totally throw down live. Saw them w/Atreyu and Underoath, and then with From Autumn to Ashes/Avenged Sevenfold. Incredible. Just like all their other records. P.S.: On the first song, it sounds like he's screaming my name, right before the breakdown. "Hilary!"

Elliott -Song In The Air CD

Song In The Air CD

'Song In The Air' is hands-down one of the most beautiful albums I own. It is superb. I had heard some Elliott before purchasing SITA, and I expected to hear an album full of dreamy atmospherics, emotive lyrics and gentle, lilting vocals, which was exactly what I got. This album is the epitome of what "emo" really should be defined as, in the vein of bands like Sunny Day Real Estate, Texas Is The Reason and the incomparable Elliott Smith (R.I.P.). It has no pretention, no false identity, no vanity, and no corporate sheen. It is pure feeling, emotion, and a staggering work of beauty. I am honored to own it.
