Reveling
3D Radio CD

One of the great newer bands on the scene. Upbeat and heartfelt singalong and powerful, with a huge melodic edge. The 4 way split and LP on Black Numbers are hugely recommended. Along with current bands like Banquets, Let Me Run, and Pentimento - The Reveling should be picked up by anyone looking to discover a new band well worth following, playing exciting music

Forgetters LP

I like this LP - stripped don a bit from the 2x7" - which i don't have a problem with. There's a 90's feel to it, with some Jawbreaker moments (hoop and swan), but should definitely be judged on it's own merits than the inevitable Jawbreaker comparisons.

Title Fight -Secret Society 7

Title Fight
Secret Society 7"

What a con Side one dummy - the LP track b/w an 'unreleased untitled song' - or just loads of studio bits of noise fading in and out...ought to be ashamed - it only gets a 2 as Secret society is a decent song by a cool band

Adolescents
American Dogs In Europe EP (Import) LP

A surprisingly great short release from these legends. I failed to check out the last LP, but plan on picking it up on the strength of this 12". A batch of solid rock inspired tunes, with a heavier edge to them. Any older fans of The Adolescents should appreciate this record. Def pick it up. I would also recommend anyone to try and locate the Joyride CD on Dr Dream Recs from the mid 90s, which Steve Soto, along with current Adolescents guitarist Mike Mcknight also plays.

Always Is Always Forever DVD

Ok, the songs advertised as "videos" are a bit misleading, as they are basically all just audio edited over the top of live footage, basically all shot from the same couple live shows. Also a couple pretty bad quality cut ,older "videos"...some of the older live camcorder footage is reasonably interesting and im sure most fans of the band will get something out of it. Although i understand the lyric content of the band, its pretty dull seeing Charles Manson appear every 5 minutes super imposed over the band playing....

Cursive
Difference Between Houses And Homes (Lost Songs: 1995-2001) CD

I have picked up all of Cursives releases as they came out from the early 7"s...my favourite stuff of thiers also is the old 7"s so i was pretty happy to see the out of print vinyl make it to CD...only complaint being the fact that all the tracks have been mixed up in order and dont follow the chronilogical order of release. It has thier two best releases on here the "sucker and dry" 7" and the "disruption" 7".... these are awesome representations of the band in thier early energetic best ...if you only know the later stuff like "domestica" or "ugly organ" i urge you to pick up this awesome collection of where this band started....

Hey Mercedes
Unorchestrated CD

Great final release from a sadly now broken up band. Nothing new here for Hey Mercedes fans, just great typical HM tracks that we have come to expect. If you are New to HM i recommend either Everynight fireworks or loses control as a good starting point..long time fans WILL NOT be disappointed!

Armor For Sleep
What To Do When You Are Dead CD

inclined to agree, that after DREAM TO MAKE BELIEVE this cd is a bit average, but still great as far as standards of todays saturated music market. Definatey worth the $$$ but if your new to AFS get dream to make believe

Hey Mercedes
Loses Control CD

Another solid release from HM....Pretty much in the same vein as the last releases, perhaps a little more polished than "everynight fireworks" but fits nicely with that album. The addition of a new guitarist makes little difference as with the mainframe of the band playing together for many years as BRAID before HM....recommended

Gameface
Four To Go CD

Unbelievable, how can a band continue to make the most amazing music? i have followed gameface for every release for 11 years, and they still blow me away. This is the most professional looking and sounding album so far from them. Every track is an instant classic. Popeye from Farside even turns up for guest vocals!
