Shotmaker are probably one of the best bands to ever come from Canada. This is classic early 90's screamo right here. Raw recording on this one. Disc one is better than disc two. Real nice collection of songs here. Definitely worth a purchase if you like bands like Current and Maximillian Colby. Favorite song: Now And Then

After I listened to this 2-disc discography from Shotmaker, they instantly became one of my favorite bands. That's how incredible this record is. I'd like to call them emo, a little more on the harder side, but still more staight up old school emo (for fans of still life, merel, portraits of past, NOT jimmy eat world or saves the day). The song structures are great, some being tight yet very unique, others having a more frenzied, choatic touch to them. The guitars I think are some of the best sounding I have heard from a good emo band in a while. They have a great, hard edge to them that gives me the shivers. Many of the songs have some eerie yet powerful baselines that stand well on their own on some of the tracks. Plus, we get the classic screaming found in emo too!!! About 2/3 of the record have the pops and hisses since the DAT tapes were lost, so many tracks were transfered from vinyl. This adds so much more raw power to the music. All in all, Shotmaker knew what was up and did a great job of bringing us some quality music. Do yourself a favor and grab this!!!
