Brought this CD as 2 songs I had heard by the Germs were awesome. After listening to this CD, those two songs were the only thing I enjoyed about the CD.

Some songs are great, some are just pure yelling with nothing else going on. I feel the Germs are way too overrated and gained fame because of Darby's death, but in the sametime its still not a bad album either, they were one of the pioneers for what was to come in the hardcore punk scene.

Get this as soon as you can, because it'll change your life. Darby's ferocious delivery of poetic lines (when you're maimed where does one go?) really cement this as one of the greatest bands of all time. Pat Smear (later of Nirvana and Foo Fighters) has some of the coolest guitar work in this album, especially on the chuck berry cover 'round and round'. Be sure to pick this up, its far different than any other band with raw vocals and fast tempo, since The Germs have something many bands weren't able to display; raw charisma. I've never identified with a singer or his lyrics as much as i have with Darby, i recommend this to anyone into the LA scene or punk in general.

Last time I had this it was the tape and it was about 12 years ago. Still love it. i love the germs. This album is really a must have for everyone. I suppose everyone. I heard that Darby came back from the grave just to screw up the filming of "What we do is secret". ITs true. I heard it from Ann R. Key. SO you know its true.

GOOD: A classic band overall, everything is excellent. Angry vocals by the late, great Darby Crash, R.I.P. Great timeless songs too.
BAD: Ultra-distorted sound quality on "Sex Boy" and inconsistent, fading sound on "My Tunnel."
Just buy it. Includes an in-depth biographical booklet of the band!

Albums like this are always a challenge to try and write a worthwhile review for because so many other people have said the same things that you would have said, sometimes said better than if you would have done it yourself. Hell, the Germs are legendary and this is definitely classic material that everyone should own. This band has influenced so many others, so listen to it and enjoy!

Hmm.. This CD is okay. Not all of the songs on it are any good, but Lexicon Devil is a great great great song. That song alone makes this album worth getting. But don't get me wrong there are other great songs on this CD too. Just not as great as "Lexicon Devil"
