This is a decent CD by Ensign, but don't expect to be blown away by this either. The metal influence is evident on this one because it's not as hardcore as Direction Of Things To Come and not as well executed either. I haven't heard anything other than their first 2 full lengths, but apparently they got a little more creative on their next release so I may have to pick that one up some day.

i lived in jersey during this bands prime..saw them countless times, although never really bought any of their records, couple 7 inches, thats it...so i bought this to maybe bring back some memories of when HC was true. well i dunno what happned, but this sucks, maybe i have just matured more than i thought musically, or the shittiness of the hardcore music world today as dulled my senses..either way it sucks..

It's a shame Ensign don't get more respect than they do. Even though they're on a "big" label like Nitro, they're still booking their own shows, playing DIY venues and living punk.
This record is fantastic, anthemic and positive, and all the songs get the blood pumping faster. It's the kind of record that prompts finger-pointing and running round in circles, and gets The Kids singing along. 'Pale Horse' is easily the best song, but the whole album rocks.

well most people would probably say that this record is generic. the hell with them i guess. just because its not as artsy-fartsy like those stupid 70's rock revival bands it dont mean shit. its just straight up HxC with a touch of political awareness. i think this is ensigns best..

Holy christ this CD is amazing, not one slow song, just fast ass music all the way through. I first took considerable notice of this band when they opened for Hatebreed on the Core Across Canada tour, they play an awesome live set too! I don't give out 5 stars that often, so take this seriously! Never Give In is the best track.
