One of my all time favorite punk cds. Right up there with Descendant's Milo Goes To College & Nofx's Wolves In Wolves Clothing. If you're new to this band, most of their best songs are on this cd. Get this if you want to see where a lot of modern punk bands got their inspiration.

Iv'e had this CD for about 5 years now but I lost it but I didn't care too much......Then I wanted to listen to it badly so I ordered it and I remembered how much ass this CD kicks!!!!. Nervous breakdown is undoubtly the best track here along with Jelous Again and the Cover of Louie Louie!!This album is up their with Everything went black and its better then Damaged IMO. GOOD hardcore but nothing will ever compare to the Almighty MISFITS!! RIP 77-83'

I used to prefer pre-Rollins Black Flag to their other stuff but after buying Damaged I think it's about a toss up. In any case both The First Four Years and Damaged are mandatory for anyone wondering where hardcore got its start. Of the songs this CD compiles I like the ones from the Six Pack EP best.

great has all the of there best songs. Really buy it right now your a moron if you dont it is fucking awesome. Every song is great from nervous breakdown to six pack to jelous again [my favirote track] it packs a punch. The only lame song is damaged 1. that song was a joke but it could have had some other songs and some of Rollins vocals. But it only had the first four years of the band the title is self explanitory. I would deffintley recomend getting as your first Blck Flag cd , unless you can find a greatest hits cd that shows there entire carrer not just there first four years.

Pretty cool release, most highly recommended. I personally like Rollins far better than the singers on this collection, but this is where it began for Black Flag, and it does kick ass. The song "White Minority" is easily one of the best Black Flag songs ever.

This cd was just great. Nothing else to say. Classic Rollins at its best. I like the Louie Louie cover a lot. Now I followed the Rollins Band moreso than Black Flag but this is quite kickass and better than the metal version of Rollins overall. Both are good but this is just too classic and good.

I gotta say, I have been into punk rock and (real) hardcore for years but never was into black flag until now. OK SO YOU WON'T FIND henry rollins on this release... I don't like ROLLINS BLACK FLAG and that is probably why I never was into them BUT THE FIRST FOUR YEARS OF THIS BAND KICKS MUCHO ASS ! ! ! ! ! ! !
get it now you won't regret it
