Bought this cd because i lost it. If you aren't familiar with this era of Black Flag then you need to know two things.

1: It was their most creative era

2: It was when they wrote their best songs.

Solid, late-period Black Flag stuff here. By now, Spot was gone and Greg was pretty much in full control of the production, so that leaves a little something to be desired, but, songwriting-wise, this one is pretty strong. There are better songs on other albums from the post-Chuck Dukowski/Damaged-era, but this one may be the most consistent from start to finish.

Loose Nut ranks up with some of Black Flag's best. Not as ground breaking as "Nervous Breakdown" or "Damaged", but very solid album. Not a bad song on this one. I think most Black Flag should get this, expecially if they like "Slip it In", I think this is probably even better than that one, and better than "In my head". Just pick this one up, Black Flag is great

Awesome CD. Great f'ing songs. All of 'em. Anybody who likes Black Flag and isn't pissed that this CD is really Black Sabbathy should buy it. This CD isn't like any of their early pre-Rollins era stuff, so if you are buying this and have heard only their early stuff this will pretty much sound like a completely different band. Still an excellent CD though, you should all buy it.

Oh man, where should I start? All of Black Flag's later era albums are so maniacal and off the wall... but out of all the post-Damaged Black Flag era material, Loose Nut and In My Head are the most solid and rewarding listens. While In My Head is mixed with a sludgy metal and weird jazz-metal type sound, Loose Nut is just loud hardcore/metal and even a bit Black Sabbath-ish sounding mixed in with Greg Ginn's patented crazy guitar solo's.

Once the song Loose Nut starts you'll be in for a ride. Tracks one though seven are all really great songs, the only point where it starts to lag is at the end is with the last two songs and even those are still pretty solid tracks. So in conclusion, if you want to get some excellent post-Damaged era Black Flag then pick up Loose Nut and In My Head. They're defiantly far better efforts than Family Man, Slip It In, and the abysmal My War.

Great album, totally different from early Flag stuff but if you like the "Damaged" & "My War" cds then you will like this, and if you're just a "Rollins" fan in general you'll dig it.. i said "dig it"..like Macho Man Randy Savage.. oooohhhhhh yyyyeeeaaahhh !!!!!!

I can't compare this to any other Black Flag albums, since I don't own any other Black Flag albums; but I can say that it's more enjoyable than beating a glowstick-wielding raver to death with a sledge hammer. How's that for a comparison?

"Anhilate this Week" and "Bastard in Love" are the best tracks on here, in my opinion. None of the others stand head and shoulders above the rest, but they're still really good. "Now She's Black" is the worst song on here, and even it's better than a lot of stuff out there.

True Black Flag fare. Definitely recommended to true Black Flag fans. If you get it and don't like it, listen to it again. If you still don't like it after that, throw it away and stock up on Abercrombie and Fitch gear and start living for girls like 99% of this country's male population, because you don't like punk anymore.

Excellent CD. Not one bad song on the cd. Highly recommended to all flag fans. Listen to "loose nut", "bastard in love", and "modern man".
