Rock 'N' Roll High School

Released on December 13, 2005

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

With the lowest academic scores in Southern California and pathetic athletic teams that haven't won a game in years, the school's last three principals had nervous breakdowns and were committed to the funny farm. However, when a fierce new principal cracks the whip and attempts to silence the rock music by burning stacks of the students' records, a riot breaks out. The Ramones arrive at school and join forces with the students to take over the school and, in a glorious exclamation of victory, burn it down. The terrific soundtrack includes such Ramones favorites as "Blitzkrieg Bop," "Pinhead," and "Teenage Lobotomy" in addition to the title track.

wow this movie is great, seriously its like any highschool/college movie about trying to stick it to the man, only the ramones are in it, and one part of the movie is a ramones concert that they used for the movie and dubed over, its really great

This movie is a classic. I love the Ramones therefore I needed this DVD for my collection. The movie itself is pretty cheesy but it does have some funny parts. The best part is the Ramones live performance. This movie really shows the Ramones in their prime which I really enjoyed, even though the Ramones can't act at all.

OH MY GOD!! this is shit! the worse thing to come out of the 70s! it took me 5 times to get through the entire movie, and the singin and dancing didn't help. even the ramones were horrible in this. such a great song spawned from such a shitty movie........i was hoping for it to be like "fast times at ridgemont high" with a punk twist, but no! do not get this!

"Anybody got any glue?!?" If you don't like this movie, you are a humorless, insensitive little shit. It's fucking great--completely retarded teen rebellion comedy with the fucking Ramones as the focal point of the rebellious shenanigans. Lots of Ramones songs of course, with the live footage being the best. Unfortunately the live songs were re-dubbed but on the DVD you get the original audio track as a bonus, fuckin a!! One of these days I'll figure out how to dub in the shitty audio to the original, oh well. Anyway there's Mary Woronov as the evil principal Togar, and also Paul Bartel, for all the punk film nerds they were both in the great Suicidal Tendencies videos for Institutionalized and Possessed to Skate, as well as, in addition to the great cult movie Eating Raoul. From a time when movies were fun, without the self-congratulatory, "witty" bullshit that often passes for laughs these days. After all, the best thing about the Ramones was their total lack of pretentiousness. Long live the memory of this great, great band. Get the reissued CD's as well--seriously the most influential punk band, period, of all time, as far as their first few LP's...who played harder and faster at that time in history? No one, chump!!!! Respect/worship the Ramones.
