Cleveland Bound Death Sentence

Cleveland Bound Death Sentence

(Members Of Salteens, Pinhead Gunpowder, Dillinger Four)

Lookout! 224

Released on June 2, 1999

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Cleveland Bound Death Sentence is a scratchy punk band dreamed up and realized by members of The Salteens, Pinhead Gunpowder and The Dillinger Four. Male and female vocals with furiously bashed-out fast punk that never loses sight of the melody; reminiscent of The Buzzcocks at their most aggressive, but cut with some American piss. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious, but always down to earth. This CD collects both of the band's previously released 7"s as well as songs from various compilations.

meh..... I was expecting more. I picked it up because well like most perople I like D4. Now I know this older stuffs on Lookout! but its reawlly raw with not so good recordings, but its just I duno, I wouldnt really recomend this cd unless their hardcore fans of any of the following The Salteens, Pinhead Gunpowder and Dillinger Four (for collection purposes of course). If you wanna give em a shot buy one of their 7's first.

This record is great, it's fast and gritty, and the sound quality is not so great, which makes it all the better. I got it because it has Paddy from Dillinger four. Best songs are Baltimore and Love American Style. Good lyrics. Pretty short- 18 mins.

fantastical adventure of music. has a chick that rocks on the vocals and the obvious baselines of Pat from D4. I loves this nice simple CD that rocks for about 20 min and has fast beats the whole way through. GET IT!!!!

i cant stop listening to this cd, i really wish that it was longer, 14 songs tally up to 18 minutes. Jailbird Bars gets my vote for the best song. They sound a lot like crimpshrine, and you cant go wrong with crimpshrine!

These guys aren't really trying. The playing sucks, the production sucks (proudly labled in the liner notes as recorded on a 7-track).. punk rock needs more bands like this! Good ol' punk aggression interspersed with some sprinkles of melodic rock'n'roll makes for good songwriting which totally makes up.. hell it even compliments.. the record production and makes it one helluva rockin' album.

This cd is pretty good. Not as good as Cometbus's other bands. Still good though. Its like a mix between Pinhead Gunpowder, Dillinger 4, and Crimpshrine. Worth picking up though.

so what if Paddy is in this band? Emily can hold her own along side the big man. Well as usual Patrick's bass is very *present* in the music, sometimes taking the guitars over as almost a leader in the song, the drums are fast and unoriginal but who gives a shit? Everything sounds awesome altogether in the end. The best song on here is Drain just for the fact that its Paddy singing a love song... well this is one great comp of their shit. get it now and you will not be let down.

It isn't quite as good as D4, but St. Patrick's in it, and it is a very good album. The recording isn't great on some songs (especially on the female vocals) but it's all indy recordings, so fuck it. It still sounds good.
