Zao may not be pushing the boundaries of music, but if it’s sheer bloody-minded aggression you’re after then you’ve come to the right place. Head-pummeling guitars and machine gun drumming are the order of the day here, and whether it’s out-and-out fury or painfully slow sludge-metal lurching, Zao deliver the goods providing the kind of deafening crunch that rattles around your head like when you smash ice cubes between your teeth.

Zao is one of the best heavy bands out today. This was their third or fourth record (I believe) and their first with singer Dan Weyandt. The songs are quite heavy, and they constantly change with starts/stops, brutal guitar riffs, and pummeling drums. I now consider this record to be their best. I also recommend Funeral of God as it seems to be in the same feel as this record. All in all, check this record out. Praising the name of Jesus in the form of doomy hardcore never sounded so good!

Yes, excellent. In my opinion, this is a true genre defining cd, and a classic Zao album. Metalcore/Hardcore at its finest. This album comes complete with very strong lyrics that just trigger great imagery. Truly thought provoking, and hell...even if you don't like the lyrics, the music will rip your testicles off. This is the first cd that Dan Weyandt is featured as the lead vocalist, and it just sounds unbelievable. Pick this up, you won't regret it.

This CD in my opinion is the best metalcore album ever created. ZAO is always one to put out a good an inovative cd, but this one just tops them all. This album is what turned things around for the band and turned their sound into one that most current bands in the genre mimic in some way. This album from beginning to end is flawless with intense drums, magnificant guitar work and the most influential vocals ever. But what really puts this album over the top are the lyrics, which are very deep, dark and perfectly executed in each song. This CD is destined to become a classic in the history of hard music, a masterpiece from the godfathers of metalcore.

hmm. i wasn't too impressed with this. it's not awful or anything, but it's not very interesting either. pretty repetitive and definitely overrated. everyone else seems to love this, but do yourself a favour and buy a Born Agaist record insead. you'll thank me later.

this cd rocks so much...Russ is such a good guitarist, you can tell the difference in their sound before and after he is in the band, this album and Liberate Te Ex Inferis are my 2 favorite cd's. buy all of their cd's! or you'll be dissapointed in yourself

ok so this album kicks major butt. I'm a huge zao fan so that may help me in believing this album rocks but i still say it rocks. If you like zao this is definatley the album you wanna get. Jesse Smith's best work on the drumming in my opinion as well as excellent songwriting by Dan Weyandt (but what else is new) so go buy this cd
