Vintage! You must own this classic double album. You will know every song even on a first listen. I highly recomend this for your collection. Cheers.

It took me awhile to really get into this album, probably because it's alittle slower than some of the newer Oi! I listen to. I think this album is pretty good, plus you get 2 albums for about the same price as one. Songs I like on Shock Troops are "Take 'Em All," "Working," "We're Coming Back," and "Out on an Island." Songs from Runnin Riot in 84 I like are "Run with the Blind," "Think Again," and "Runnin Riot (Live)." The songs on Runnin Riot sound somewhat different from Shock Troops.

Ehhhhh. I like the diamonds and pearls more than this. They got progressively worse as time went on. Average so if you get a big allowance from mommy you might want to check it out. Sort of has a Led Zepplin vocal influence too. Is it positive or negative? To me a bit negative.

Make up your own mind jackass.

I shouldn't have bought this. You know, its just not my kind of music. If you kids like it, thats cool. This just isn't for me. I'm not usually into OI, but I thought I'd give this a chance. Oops.

I do have to say the songs "Argy Bargy", "Watch Your Back", and of course "Runnin' Riot" are pretty good.

I've been meaning to get this for quite some time, and for good reason, too. Shock Troops is, simply, a classic street-punk record with catchy, working class tunes. Running Riot is a bit different. It kind of goes into a new wave feel (which seemed to be the popular thing to do in those days as many English bands such as The Damned, The Adicts, and Sham 69, made records in this fashion) which really works well for most of the songs. I had to listen to it a few times to get used to it, though, since it took me by surprise at first.

This was a pretty good cd. The shock troops portion of the cd is definatly better, but i liked running riot as well, it just took a while to get into. Overall its pretty good. And with the amount of songs it has its a good deal.

(3 1/2 stars) First off I'll say I'm not a huge Oi fan. I like a song here and there, but whevever I buy a CD I'm dissapointed. Probably because I don't like hearing a chorus 235235 times per song, but oh well. On with my thoughts on the cd...

Shock Troops is a decent album. It starts off with some good songs, but eventually I stopped paying attention cause they all sounded so similar. THeres some great songs in there, though--like "We're Coming Back", "Riot Squad", "Argy Bargy"...and then you've got some awful songs, like "Droogs Don't Run"(three minutes of chorus after chorus with the same riff...), and the attempt at a slow song in "Out on an Island" is fairly boring. I bet it's a great listen if you've got your friends around, though--play it loud.

I like the running riot in 84 part of the cd a lot more. The songs are more musically diverse (or have a different structure). Only one dud on that album--I think it's much better.

And the live tracks are great. The singer's voice is much more raw and the music is a bit faster, which makes the songs excellent. If thats any indication, I'd say that the live and loud album is amazing.

Oh, and if you love oi, I'm fairly sure you'd love this. Two albums for less than the cost of one (by 25 cents, har) is a good deal too.

Classic Oi. All of the best of compilations miss out on a lot of their best songs so I'm just going to try and buy all of their albums.

As everyone else said before me the Running Riot album isn't as good as shock troops, but its still very good. Every song on Shock Troops rules, and the best songs on Running Riot are: Is Anybody There?, Don't Say a Word, and Running Riot.

So go buy it if you like Oi, and if you don't like Oi you suck, and buy it anyway and maybe you'll stop sucking.
