Reel Big Fish is one of my least favorite ska bands, probably because its not happy music, like all other ska. This album is more like Rock and Roll with horns than it is ska. I'd recommend Turn the Radio Off album to someone who is trying to decide between their albums.

This album is almost as good as "Turn the Radio Off." Songs such as "Thank you for not moshing," "The Set Up," and "Somebody Hates Me" were some of my favorites. If you are new to RBF, get turn the radio off. However, this cd is great and well worth anyone's money. I enjoyed it a lot more than "We're not happy till you're not happy." RBF is fucking amazing in concert, go see them.

My girlfriend got me into ska, and i like it. i bought this CD thinking it would be good. i was wrong, it is extremely POPPY. i dont like it, it sounds like it should be on JIVE, which it is.

I'd listened to a couple of reel big fish's covers, singles, and other songs before I decided to buy this album. reel big fish is one of the greatest ska bands of our time, and i love their stuff i'd already heard before buying this album. i based my choice on buying 'why do they rock so hard' on the reviews. I'm pretty disappointed. My choice was either this or 'turn the radio off', cuz these are apparantly, from the reviews, reel big fish's best albums. but i went for this, which i think was a mistake. Most of the songs are all right, there are a lot of fillers. otherwise, they're pretty good. In hindsight, i'd choose 'Turn the Radio Off' over this. Some of these songs are good, other songs are a waste of musical talent, and reel big fish is much better than what they reflect through this album.

This cd is pretty damn awesome. It is definitaly better than Turn The Radio Off. Just about every song is fast, upbeat ska that is fun to listen too. The cd starts to get old after a few listens, but its definitaly worth the buy.

This cd was really good, I liked all of the songs on it but some of them get a little annoying after a while because theyre so pop-ish and happy. Still its a reall great cd and if you like ska then you would probably like the band Fat Matt and the moochers who are a local band from Pa and they are awsome and should have a record deal.

Personally, I think this is the best RBF cd, besides Turn The Radio Off. If you like peppy, upbeat ska, this cd would be a good purchase. From the fast paced "She's Famous Now" to the more mellow "Song #3", the album has something for everyone. It's a fun listen, and if you are still unsure about whether or not you like Reel Big Fish, I'd suggest this CD. WDTRSH is a good representation of Reel Big Fish's original sound (everything pre-"Cheer Up!"), and it has a lot of truly excellent revamped versions of their old songs, such as "I Want Your Girlfriend" and "I'm Cool". If you are looking for a catchy, upbeat album that you can consistently come back to, Why Do They Rock So Hard? is a safe bet.

I give this c.d. 4 stars, because it has a lot of good songs on it, but not all of the songs are that great. The best songs are #'s 1,2,3,4,8.
