Thee Merry Widows

The Devil`s Outlaws

People Like You 158-2

Released on April 7, 2008

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Like a living, breathing Russ Meyers movie brought to life, Thee Merry Widows are a sight and sound to behold! Combining elements of traditional psychobilly with their love of horrorpunk, surf, and garage, Thee Merry Widows are 's first all female psychobilly band. These girls may be pretty, but make no mistake, they ain't afriad to rock the fuck out! Started by vocalist and burlesque queen Miss Eva von Slut and upright bassist Nikki Nightbreed in their San Francisco apartment, the band grew quickly to include sci-fi sweetheart drummer Andrea, garage rock rhythm guitar goddess Mistress Mandy, motorcycle maniac turned upright bassist Jenna Ferocious, and lead guitarist/kindergarten teacher Nishone. Emerging from the underground, the band has become a major force to be reckoned with in California 's psychobilly scene. Soon to be on tour in a city near you!!

This disc takes all the good stuff from Revenge Served Cold and makes it...uh...gooder. Highlights include "Remember Me" (the duet with Daniel from Rezurex), "The Bride", and "Elena's Empty Tomb". "My High Heels" makes me feel all squishy inside.... I don't know if it's the guitar tone or what, but there's an otherworldly vibe to the disc. Lotsa horror, lotsa murder, and lotsa Eva= completely bad-ass.

This is a tremendous follow up to their last album, it's definitely harder edged than their first release. I find myself putting this one on a lot more that the last one.

Couldn't quite get the hang on this one.... kinda flat and boring for a band playing psycho/rockabilly... pretty ladies though.
