All-American Rejects

All-American Rejects

Doghouse 92

Released on October 15, 2002

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

The All-American Rejects, a Stillwater, Oklahoma duo also referred to as Nick Wheeler and Tyson Ritter, have an incomparable sound that fuses rock guitar and electronic beats with in fectious pop melodies. Although The Rejects are a two person songwriting team, their live show also consists of a touring drummer, second guitarist, and keyboard player. In the summer of 2001 The All-American Rejects recorded and released their first album Same Girl, New Songs, independently of a record label, and set out to tour the Midwest. No less than two months later The All-American Rejects had sold over 500 albums on their own. By the end of that tour, The AAR had gained the attention of Doghouse Records and began work on their national debut album.

this album came out a long time ago, but i never got around to writing a review until now. it's very poppy - sugary, fun and upbeat. their sound is close to other synth-punk bands like hellogoodbye or motion city soundtrack. the lyrics are great, expressing sincerity, honesty & vulnerability throughout. if you like music to put a smile on your face and inspire you to dance around your room, buy this! this is the album to cheer you up after a rough break-up ... cheer up emo kids!

if only i got this cd, i could review it. i don't like the AAR new stuff but this, their first doghouse disc, featured some nice melodies.

I love The All American Rejects! Originality can be found by the bucketload here! Every song is totally different; 'The Last Song' and 'Happy Ending's' being just two of my fav's, but the whole album is something special. If your looking for something different and extremeley catchy you can't go wrong with The All American Rejects.Superb.

This CD is alright. I listened to it a bunch when I first bought it, but it then quickly began to collect dust on my shelf. Some of the songs are catchy and fun to listen to, but overall it's not one of my favorite albums. I do have to say that Tyson has an amazing voice. It accomplishes what the "rejects" probably wanted. It's a catchy, sing-songy pop-emo album, but nothing spectacular.

This album has so much pop, it fizzes when you put it in the CD player. I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it at first, with all the synthesizing and such, but halfway through I was hooked. On your second listen, you'll know all the words, and you'll be singing along at the top of your lungs, despite the overwhelming radio-friendliness of this album. Every song is addictive, which would account for why I can't get it out of my stereo.

I bought this cd and it was pretty good. it was very catchy and thought out, but the songs got old quickly. i found myself only listening to about 3 or 4 of the songs mostly. but overtime it gets better..... i guess it just grows on you. over all it was pretty good.

Ok, so I got this CD awhile ago, and thought it might be good, just some simple pop emo type music. Keyboards, guitars, and simple lyrics about break ups and shake ups, similar to Reggie and the Full Effect, but these guys take themselves too seriously. Unfortunatly, these guys got overexposed, and the music just lost its value, and just got really annoying. I only listened to this a few times through, and recently gave it away to my sister's friend.

Wow, I don't really know what to say. This cd is really pretty amazing. I usually don't like keyboards in music, but this really works. I heard somewhere that the band is only two guys. That they both wrote this album is pretty special. Anyway, get this if you like good pop/punk. You won't be disappointed.

Oh, it's just so poppy... i don't know what to do with myself!! Seriously, this album is pop as hell and not something i would normally gravitate towards, but it's just SO good. Give it a try if you if you like Something Corporate or need a break for your usual hardcore.

If you haven't heard of this band, then you will. If you have heard of them, then you porbably already have an opinion. My opinion is: this cd freaking rocks. Every song is good, there are no real "fillers". If you haven't heard this, then buy it and take a chance.
