Mike Felumlee/Dan Andriano

Split

(Members of Alkaline Trio)

Double Zero 13

Released on October 22, 2002

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Mike and Dan meet in this split solo release. Mike Felumlee offers up 3 songs that follow up his brilliant debut album, 64 Hours. After having played drums for Alkaline Trio, Smoking Popes, and Duvall, Mike shows he can also pen pop/indie rock masterpieces. Dan Andriano from the Alkaline Trio offer his first attempt at solo material. After having hearing these three new songs, one can only hope this will not be the last of Dan¹s solo material. These songs include 2 originals and a cover of his old band, Tuesday. All three songs will put a smile on any Alkaline Trio Fan's face as well as any fans of well written indie rock.

This CD was okay I guess. I liked the Dan half a lot. The Mike half was a little slow and boring. It's worth buying if you are a huge Alk3 fan.

Dan Andriano is great. To me he is the best part of Alkaline Trio. But the sad thing is Mike Felumlee's half just seems to be some guy crying for three songs and it's as unoriginal as it is boring.

Danny is the man. Can't get enough of his songs but I wish there were more. Don't get me wrong, the songs are great but only three. Damnit, I want more! Worth it for you Alkaline Trio fans. Didn't really listen to the Felumlee part so I can't say much anything about that.

I've always wanted to write a review and I am wooooooo. This cd is alright. I gave it five stars, because it has people from the Trio and all the Trio stuff deserves to have perfect, perfect, perfect scores.

I am a very big fan of Alkaline trio so i bought this cd. My hopes were high, but i was kind of let down. Not to say this cd is bad or anything, its just i thought it would be better. Mike's songs are ok,just, well,i dont know,Dan's songs are ok.If i wasnt such a big fan of Alkaline Trio this cd would have pissed me off big time. But, this is only my opinion, so you can buy it if you want. But i doubt youll listen to it more than a week.

Dan Andriano's songs are definitely the highlight of this CD, which loses points just for being short and not flowing very well. "Way Too Many Times" is the best tune, and it's also nice to hear a fast version of Tuesday's "Let the Stars Play". Mike Felumlee has a smooth alternative sound, and although I'm not familiar with his work in the Smoking Popes, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked his songs. Any Alkaline Trio fan should have this, but other than that it's not really spectacular.

At first I didn't really want to buy this album because I'm not a big fan of Mike Felumlee but later decided to just get it (mainly for Dan Andriano). It turned out that Mike's voice was a lot better than I expected; that guy can sing! It makes me wonder why he's a drummer. I liked "Sunshine" the best out of his three songs. As for Dan, he's always great so what else can I say? I enjoyed all of his songs. I was kind of disappointed that Mike and Dan didn't play all the instruments on their split cd (in reference to Matt Skiba/Kevin Seconds split where both guys did all of their own stuff) but it's a good cd.

Nothing too amazing...not as great as the Skiba/Seconds split. Buy it if you really need another acoustic CD. That is after, of course, you buy all of Onelinedrawing's CDs and Kevin Devine's disc.

I bought this primarily for being an Alkaline Trio fan, especially Dan Andriano's songwriting. However, I was pleasantly surprised with Mike Felumlee. I didn't know what to expect from Alkaline Trio's former drummer, but was surprised how well he is a solo artist. Standout tracks include "Sunshine" by Mike and Dan's "Way Too Many Times" and "Let The Stars Play", which is much better electric than Tuesday's acoustic version.

Just in response to the guy below me: ¿why did you expect a lot more from this CD? It's a wrong move, man. Look at me, i wasn't expecting a damn shit from this cd and actually i'm quiet satisfied with it. Don't expect nothing and you won't be disappointed. It never fails. Dog's life, anyhow.
