Dag Nasty fans are usually divided ... the hardcore loyalists prefer Dave Smalley's "Can I Say," while the more sensitive crowd goes for "Wig Out At Denko's." I'm a Denko's guy, and I think "Can I Say," while definitely an emo milestone, has some weak spots and underwritten songs. So it is that I was completely surprised by "Minority of One." Although recorded many years after the band's salad days, it sounds so energetic and fresh, and is easily as good as "Can I Say" in terms of quality, if not better. The only downside to the album is that, by now, this type of sound has been heard a million times, so that there's nothing new here, making the music seem lacking in some way. It's not, of course, it's just not original. But it's done competently and this is a strong album, so throw in a cover of "100 Punks" and this is a good buy.

Anyone who listens to any EmoCore-style music that's worth listening to (Hot Water Music, for example) should have at least one album by this band in their library. These guys practically invented the genre, breaking the mold in the punk scene along with bands like 7 Seconds, Rites of Spring, and Fugazi by showing that every punk rock song didn't have to be about fighting the system or non-conformity. This band is for any teenager having a tough time growing up, and this album is the best one they have done (Aside from maybe Can I Say or may Field Day). YOU WILL BUY THIS ALBUM IF YOU HAVE ANYWHERE NEAR A DECENT TASTE IN MUSIC!

When I first listen to this cd it did not have the buzz of early Dag Nasty. But now that I have been listening to it more it sounds just as good as the other Dag Nasty cd's.

I didn't think this was gonna be that good, after Can I Say the band failed to knock me over like before but Minority of One has got the songs to impress. My favorites were 'Minority of One' and 'Broken Days'

Along with Verbal Assault, Youth Of Today, & Gorilla Biscuits, Dag Nasty have to be one of the greatest punk bands from the 80's. They are one of the reasons I first started listening to punk! It's great to see the band get back together and release another album which easily sounds like a sequel to their first release with Dave Smalley. In other words, no surprises here. Great punk rock in the veign of great 80's punk!!! Thank you Dag Nasty for keeping the torch lit!

If had band had been together for awhile and put out a CD that sounded exactly like all their other stuff-it would suck. Since Dag Nasty hadn't put out any music in 10 years(or so), it's a good thing in their case. Unlike most people, I actually liked the second singer of the band. The song writing on "Wig Out" was really good, in my opinion. This albumn has good song writing and Dave Smalley (original singer), so the people who liked "can I say" will definately like this album.

Original Dag Nasty. Nothing more. Nothing Less.
Which means that it's GRAND! That's right! GRAND! Dave, Brian, Colin, and Roger. All there, all writing songs, all performing, all doing there best. It's a shade under Can I Say, which is saying (fuck me and my stupid puns) alot. Never really cared for the second singer, but this album will make you forget about him all together.

A quality release from a band who I'm not too familiar with. I was introduced to them through a comp. and I think I will listen to more of them. Hard to compare them to anyone, they have a sound not commonly found. Some of their songs have a southern-guitar feel in them (if that makes any sense to you, which it most likely doesn't). Ghosts is one of my fav. songs on the album. It's quick, it's catchy, it's harder, it's good. I'm not gonna tell you to run out of your way to pick this up, but if you have the cash this should definetely be considered.
