Home Grown

Kings Of Pop

Drive-Thru 6076836092

Released on June 25, 2002

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

This is the third and long awaited release for Home Grown, and their first one on Drive-Thru Records. With a cd called “Kings of Pop” you're probably wondering what to expect! The tight hooks and catchy songs really make it a great listen. The drumming is fast, and the guitar and bass sound crisp and clean and also deliver the best of what the album has to offer. The lyrics are well written and contain a lot of meaning, especially in the song “You’re Not Alone” (which along with “Give It Up”, was originally on the Drive Thru Comp. “Welcome To The Family”). The opener “Tomorrow”, has a really catchy lead guitar riff and pre-chorus and “Cannot Stop The World”, which is full of hooks and has some of the best lyrics the disc offers. Home Grown have another strong release to add to their belts, and it’s sure to please almost any pop/punk fan. Even with the name, “Kings of Pop”, it’s a really hard cd not to like.

To date this is by far the best Homegrown cd to be released. Of course the number one complaint would be that it is pop punk, but deep down inside everyone can love pop punk when it is this good. With exceptional tracks like Kiss me, Diss me and I love you, not this album is solid release that just about anyone can enjoy.

This cd is average, a lot of the songs sound alike and it tends to get boring I think theyre new EP is better.

Great, Great, Great record. They have i guess you can say matured in a way from their other releases like "Thats Bussiness" Every single song is good. If you own "Thats Bussiness" then this is ay different but super good. The best tracks are:1,3,4,6,8. Buy this, you wont be dissapointed.

Hmm. My vote is still out for Home Grown.. if you're into the pop-punk scene then this is definately a CD worth owning and while you're at it pick up the Drive-Thru DVD to catch the Home Grown video for "Not Alone" .. it's a goodie. Keep on rocking kids..

Home-Grown is another great band on drive-thru. I like this cd a lot. It's a pretty fast paced album with the poppy punk combination. I recommend it to anyone who likes Drive-Thru bands in general (cause they kick ass). An overall great cd.

i was actually quite surprised. im a fairly big fan of homegrown but the whole image this cd gives off is "pop", so i was expecting it to suck. well, it is pop punk, but there are a lot of beautifully melodic songs you wont find on your average pop punk band's cd. in fact, i think this is probably the most solid homegrown cd yet. sure there are a few "pop"ish songs, but in general they have matured musically quite a bit and put together a really passionate album.

I have always liked HomeGrown and this album although a little more poppy is still really good. I need some more sentences for this review to work, so I hope this is enough to make them happy
