Ceci N'est Pas Recover

Fiddler 14

Released on July 23, 2002

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Recover's second release extends the poppier side of their first album, Rodeo and Picasso. The crisp rock and screaming elements from their previous release have been replaced by a more refined sound, while maintaining a rocking edge. Intelligent rock with radio-friendly rhythms.

Dude, why am I just discovering this band now. This is probably one of my better albums of the genre. Only five songs but each song has it's own heart and story. Many may disagree but I have to say this EP is legendary.

I am really starting to get into Recover. This cd is produced by Brian Mcternan, the same guy that has produced the last two Thrice cds, and he has done another great job. High sound quality but still pretty rough and raw. All of the songs on the cd are pretty good, my favorite being "my only cure". It gets only four stars because of it's length and the naked girls on the cd insert. I thought that was a little unneccesary, maybe their being artsy or something, whatever. Later.

The album is a nig change from their full length. I really like the EP. The artwork is amazing. One of the best designed cds of all time. The songs are more then the old ones. Way less screaming, way less anger. If you are into Recover, this is a must have.

this cd is so great... its true recover has changed quite a bit from their last cd to this one. but its a good change. less screaming but still a little. great songwriting, singing. i would definitely recommend this to fans of rodeo & picasso as well as to fans of finch. also, the used really likes recover.

i only have one complaint about this album... they package it with some creepy looking insert. it depicts the band sitting in a room with about 3 or 4 dead naked women, atleast i think they're dead, cause they're all blue and not alive looking. other than that, the music is great, not as aggressive as "rodeo...", but still amazing stuff. pick this up, but don't forget about the naked dead ladies, and remember to pick up "rodeo", their debut album.

although i was skeptical at first to accept a much more melodic and less heavy sound out of recover, after listening to this ep once i fell in love. this album only proves that recover is an incredible and well rounded band, as capable of pulling off super-melodic yet still super-rocking music as they are intense and emotional hardcore.

Good shit. Not as 'raw' (for lack of a better term) as 'Rodeo & Picasso', though the musicianship is tighter. What keeps me interested is the amalgam (look it up) of hardcore, indie rock, & punk done so seamlessly. Great teaser for the next record...

I bought this cd because I am seeing them live and I wanted to get familiar with them. So far I listened to it once and I have only one thing to say, atleast it's not Linkin Park.
