Toasters

Enemy of the System

Asian Man 85

Released on May 21, 2002

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

America's longest running ska band. THE TOASTERS formed on the lower east side of Manhattan, NYC in 1981, they have gone on to be the lynchpins of the US ska scene, producing an impressive catalogue of music, including ten albums and innumerable singles and EP's. Meanwhile they have logged an incredible concert total approaching 4,000 live shows in more than two dozen countries around the world. In 1997 Billboard Magazine called them New York's ska pioneers and true, they have traveled where no man has been before, taking their trademark ska/reggae/powerpop mix behind the Iron Curtain and to the steamy jungles of Brazil. With their eclectic, idiosyncratic sound the group was dubbed "the MILES DAVIS of ska" by the Bay Area press. Now in their 21st year of ripping it up THE TOASTERS show no signs of slowing down and are back with a new record. The eagerly-anticipated new album, Enemy of the System, will blow your socks off. Recorded at King Django's Version City, THE TOASTERS once again will survive the trends and play ska because they love the music.

Excellent Toasters cd. I was not very impressed with skaboom! but i have found a new interest in the Toasters with this great cd. Its always in my player. Songs like "Enemy of the System" and "Pirate Radio" prove how good America's longest running ska band really is.
