Ben Weasel

(Screeching Weasel)

Lookout!/Panic Button 282

Released on June 18, 2002

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Fidatevi is Ben Weasel's first solo album. The title word has two meanings: trust in yourselves and trust in each other. Keeping it in the extended Screeching Weasel/Lookout!/Panic Button family, Matt from Teen Idols played the drums, Dan Vapid (SCREECHING WEASEL/SLUDGEWORTH/MOPES/METHADONES) added guitar and bass and sang backing vocals, and Mass Giorgini produced. Fidatevi was recorded at Acme Studio in Chicago. Ben's incredible brand of punk rock songwriting is focused into this personal and positive album - more introspective than one might imagine. At the same time, it totally rocks in exactly the way fans would hope and expect it to.

A strange record by Mr. Weasel. Don't expect Screeching Weasel's pop punk or Riverdale's Ramones-style, "Fidatevi" is a different sound - clean guitars, slower songs - but with great lyrics and nice singing. Different but very good!

For those who speak English: I can't describe how disappointed I was with this record. Screeching Weasel & The Riverdalesone are two of my favorite bands, so I figured this would be great. Boy, was I wrong.

Ok, this isn´t Fredrik that´s writing. Ben Weasel. What more can I say. For those who love Screeching Weasel knows what I´m talking about. I give this album five stars. This is so damn good, there are no words for it. I love this album and I kinda love Ben Weasel, haha! Well, if you like Screeching Weasel and you don´t own this album you really need to get it. Yeah I know that this review sucks but it´s my job. Once again, get this album now!

i was a bit shakey at first when i bought this CD, because when i normally hear solo stuff its all a bit acoustic or really emo. but as i am a big fan of Screeching Weasel i just had to have this record in my collection. the minute i had it through my front door it was blasting on the stereo. Ben you've done us proud.

Wow, is this Ben Weasel? The guy who regarded us as "The enemy" now regards us as gods(last line of responsibility). Who would've guessed? Nonetheless, this album is truly amazing. This album's style and lyrics contrast greatly with his earlier, yet still great work, such as "My Brain Hurts". All and all, Screeching Weasel AND Ben Weasel will always find a place in my record collection.

It's good to hear Ben's voice again, and his brand of poppunk. The CD seems very honest and raw, with undistorted guitars that remind me of the Hi-Fives.

Im glad to see Ben Weasel in a better mood. It seems he has become comfortable and at peace with his life, which is great. This album has a few really good songs on it. I enjoy it daily. Im still a Die-Hard Weasel fan who has a dream that Ben,Panic,Vapid, & Jug-head will get back together and have one more tour before they call it quits. Regardless of what happens, I hope Ben Foster keeps making music. Old and new punk rockers alike still enjoy his work and will always cheer for him! Go Ben!!!

great stuff. less ramones inspired and more crimpshrine influenced music. everyone knows who the ramones are, but incase you havent heard of crimpshrine, then you should campare this to screeching weasels "Emo"
