Q And Not U

On Play Patterns

Dischord 132

Released on April 15, 2002

This is the first release for Q and Not U as a newly modified three piece and any worries of a void are instantly dismissed. The two new songs are incredible. Once again recorded by Ian MacKaye and Don Zientara, Ten thousand Animal Calls and Soft Pyramids give us an exciting glimpse of what is to come when Q and Not U record this summer for a new full-length.

Great EP. "10 Thousand Animal Calls" is a great prelude to the redux version on "Different Damage" known as "So Many Animal Calls." They are both very different songs, listen and find out. There are small similarities. "Soft Pyramids" is about the same, the only noticable difference is some lyrics are different. I recommend this to true Q And Not U fans, but not as a first record. Get "No Kill No Beep Beep" first.
