As Friends Rust

Won

Doghouse 84

Released on October 30, 2001

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

This new album is an amazingly mature release from a band that is only now releasing their first album. Sometimes dark and brooding and other times fast and furious Won is a sonic journey into what some will describe as metal, hardcore and rock n' roll. And it really is all of those things without actually neatly fitting into any one of those genres.

I picked up this album last year after a friend told me to check them out, so I did. I thank him everyday for introducing me to this wonderful band. My only regret is that Damien left the band and the band has changed their name to Salem. I truly loved Damien's voice because of the power and emotion it range out. I love this album and it has inspired me to start writing songs again. So, I would pick this up as soon as possible.

Great cd and a great band, although they have changed their name to slame for some reason. Who ever said the lyrics suck on this alblum obviously dosn't know much about lyrcis...it seems people today just want deep lyrics(which i love, don't get me wrong) that any listener can relate to with personal experiences. well ASF write lyrics in the form of truisms, that is things that are undisputedly held true...I.E. sayings like "fuck with the bull...ya get the horns" in austin we have a problem. by the way, that is probably the second best song on the cd. As a lyric writer i can respect the style of lyric writing ASF use despite not usually using it myself. As far as the actual music goes, it's just great rock music.

Its pretty cool, the music is great, but the lyrics are a little crappy. Its still worth buying...just don't expect Thursday-like lyrics or anything.

this is a pretty good CD, the music is real good, but the lyrics are sub par I think. I think that lyrics should be more than "FUCK WITH THE BULL. YA GET THE HORNS". thats sad lyric writing. he has a good voice too. the rest of the band does a really good job. If you can tone out some of the stupid lyrics (I kind of overexaggarated... only on song 3 are they horrid. the rest are avgrage or better). I give this 4 stars because its really really good, but the lyrics on song three make me skip the song entirely.

Wow, This is fecking amazing. Heard of them some years ago but wasn't overly impressed - this has changed my views. Great songs in the vain of Thursday but with a little more melody. I'll definately keep my eyes on these guys. Great stuff
