This CD's like a candy bar: it has an immediacy that's potent and invigorating, but is short on substance and is ultimately lacking. With 12 bubbly pop-punk tunes in about 26 minutes, the CD breezes by, and many of the songs start to sound the same. In addition, the lyrics have a youthful exuberance and innocence that's endearing, but the downside is they don't say anything noteworthy. This is a nice listen, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. Instead, get their next album, "No Apologies," a fantastic CD that offers everything this album lacked.

I enjoyed this. The Eyeliners are a great band. It wasn't anything mind blowing but it was some good fun ramones style punk rock. Definetly worth checking out but I wouldn't reccommend this to anyone who feels that they are "macho-manly". "It could have been you" is a great song with guest vocals by Ben Weasel. Simple, fun, classic, girl punk.

In my experience, many chick punk bands don't seem as motivated to stand out as a unique band due to the fact that they already stand out by their gender in this, our punk rock boys' club. They're songs are usually more monotonous and less inspired.. just in my opinion. Don't think I'm a bigot, I love girl bands, just as any band, when they're exciting and fresh. The Eyeliners are just such a band. They are addictively melodic.. and as far as songwriting, they really try, instead of just churning out twelve or so more tracks of shit and calling it an album. You'll really dig their good old fashioned rock and roll guitars and basslines.. also the vox are great. They don't scream like they're PMSing and constipated all at once like a lot of girls are pigeonholed into doing.. just sexy, feminine vocals. Not diva-like, more like that girl next door. By the way, they are hot too! Sorry.. had to say it.

This cd is ok. Alot of songs sound repetitive (alot of the songs sound alike) but its still good. If you like poppish punk then youll like this.

12 tracks of pop-punk goodness. The lyrics, while dependent on cliched rhymes, work pretty well, and the riffs are the catchiest thing this side of the Dead Milkmen. While not all the tracks are outstanding, none of them are bad, and quite a few, like "Everything's Alright," "It Could Have Been You," and the title tracks, just blow me away. Track 3 is a duet with Ben Weasel that works a lot better than I would have expected.

They did it again. I know I'm the only one who ever reviews this band but they rock. Best girl band ever.

The Eyeliners really out did themselves. Not only are the instrumentals amazingly thoughtout, but the lyrics are true and catchy. It's a real shame that not alot of people know about them, because they have a great pop-punk sound and they stand out among other girl punk bands such as SLEATER-KINNEY.
