I enjoyed this c.d. It is certainly a great contrast with the band's later works, though I find this pleasing, as the tendency of many bands (including, sadly, this one) to seemingly lose much of the passion and feeling of their first releases with the popularity and success they may encounter with later efforts is disapointing to me. In any case, this c.d. is a fine example, if a bit rough and somewhat poorly recorded (though this adds to the effect) of a great band embarking upon a path of indefinate destination. This release nearly vindicates (though not quite) the surprising change for the popular sensibility so blatantly displayed in the band's most recent release "The Truth". To sumerise: a grand enough release, thoroughly enjoyable to the ear, even to the most discriminating of grandmothers, and the Irish priest one can hear in the beginning of the song "revenge I seek" on the "this is love this is murderous" c.d. makes a charming apearence in the beginning of the first track of this c.d., "turns cold to the touch". Dust to Ashes also has several songs which were later rerecorded for the next two albums, and it is interesting to hear these songs in their earlier form, and thus see how the music as a whole work has changed and evolved over time. Jolly good.

This was the time that BT was not realy known... Now their just huge... anyway this cd is good but Portrait... is better IMO... still a good cd but the production is ok, not great... great artwork here btw...this cd was made during the time they had members of Taken....

this cd is pretty sweet. Bleeding Through's other albums are better, and this one is reletively short compared to their other ones. It's still great though.

Not as good as I expected it to be, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Some of the songs I've already heard on "Portrait..." and it's interesting to listen to them in a more pure and raw form. The others songs are also heavy as hell...

This cd is so amazing. Don't get fooled by Ebay prices. This isn't nearly as good as there two other albums. If you are just getting into Bleeding Through then buy Portrait of a Goddess first. It has M Shadows on track 5 and John Pettibone from Himsa on track 1, you cannot get any better then that.

I just recently managed to get ahold of this album and I'm glad I did. This album kicks some serious ass, though it's not as good as "Portrait..." or "This is Love...". Bleeding Through is most definitely one of the good heavy bands out there today, not like that melodic shit that seems to be everywhere lately.

Buy this if you like decent heavy music.

First I would like to laugh at all the nimrods on ebay for pay 2 or 3 times what I just paid. Second I would like to laugh at how ridiculously good this is even though their "Portrait..." and "This is Love..." albums are better. Yet, this makes me feel complete now that I have all BT's albums. the music is good, the vocals are decent, and the recording is good. If you want to get this album get it fast because it seems that it is getting harder and harder to get this back in stock any where.

Bleeding Through is one band that will kick your ass to oblivian. Although this isn't there best release it's still really great. The recording isn't that good though. I would recomend thier other two albums, Portrait of the Goddess, and This is Love This is Murderous to buy also. Their new keyboard player Marta is even greater than Molly and much finer too. So buy this then fucking go to one of their shows and experience the devil in the flesh.
