In some ways, I like the older version of Yellowcard better than I like the new, mainly because its just traditional upbeat punk with a violin added into it. However, in other ways there is no comparison to Ocean Avenue. But either way, this band is amazing, and always has been. If you're not into extremely poppy stuff, and more into straight-up punk, go for this. But if you're more into new New Found Glory and Simple Plan and the like, then go for Ocean Avenue. I have both, and I love both. But what really depends is just your style of music.

Yellowcard rules and that's all there is too it. Ocean Avenue is arguably better, but they are both basically the same: awesome. The violin is killer and the songs never get boring. This is some of punk rock's finest.

not nearly as good as ocean avenue, but a good album and worth buying. i do skip over the slower acoustic songs, but the faster upbeat songs (star struck & sureshot specifically) make this album's rating jump! the violin is not a gimmick and really adds texture to the songs. a definite must-have if you're a yellowcard fan, but try their underdog ep or ocean avenue if you're a new listener.

This has some YC "classics" I guess on it but overall its not anything that special. Without the violin to make it stand out this album would be very disposable. HOWEVER you should buy "Ocean Avenue" its a thousand times better and all this album succeded in doing was making me not get Ocean Avenue when it came out but then I got it for my birthday and I couldnt believe it was the same band. If you really like Yellowcard then I suppose you should get it but if not skip this one.

Yellowcard is such a good band and this is a bad ass cd. I have all the yellowcard cds and this is my least favorite but its still amazing. I would get their ep first for anyone just getting into this band, then ocean avenue, then this one. Although its great music, it seems to lack a certain catchy quality that their other cds seems to have. This is just really good music.A SWEET CD!!!!

This CD is OK. It doesn't really have lasting power if you ask me. I don't know...the new one's better even though it's not that great either. I guess I'm just not a big fan of Yellowcard?

As do some CD's "One for the Kids" took awhile to grow on me. Once it did i was hooked. Ryan Key continues his tradition of amazing vocal and lyrical abilities. However the Violin wasnt as obvious on this CD as Ocean Avenue. The High Points of this Cd are October Nights, Sureshot,Something of Value, and Drifting. If you liked Ocean Avenue u will most likely like One For the Kids

This is classic modern pop-punk now. Original and powerful. They set the bar higher for all of this new poppunk bands these days. If you haven't, check them out. Yellowcard Rocks.

This is an awesome CD! It is definitely a lot better than the new one, Ocean Avenue, and a lot faster too. Sean Mackin's violin playing is insane, and it goes perfectly with Ryan Key's excellent melodies. It's pretty inspiring music, mostly written from the heart..though sometimes a little bit of whining takes over. Overall, a great CD, and if you have Ocean Avenue, order this CD as soon as possible. Any fan of melodic and quick pop punk will enjoy this band.
