Essential buy for anyone interested in garage and 60's rock. Few weak tracks on this one - this is a record that really capture the essence of these legends. Although it lacks some of the bands greatest hits, it is by far the best Sonics album/compilation you could get your hands on. No time to waste.

A great trip down rock n roll memory lane! This is a very unique album. It was originally released in 1966. Norton Records has re-issued this, along with other Sonics releases. You could almost call this 60s punk, but the 50s rock n roll influence is definetly present here. There are some originals and some covers, plus a few live tracks from their first album, "Here are the Sonics". If you are interested in discovering pre-70s punk or "proto-punk", get this. I could only image what older people would have thought of these guys in 1966 with their fast rhythms, chaotic solos and brash raw vocals. Put down that Strokes CD and give this a listen. Very entertaing! Get up and shake your ass!
