Poison the Well

Opposite Of December

Trustkill 27

Released on December 14, 1999

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Poison The Well build off of the South Florida sound that hardcore kids have come to embrace over the past few years; they make hardcore all encompassing. Imagine mixing the musical and vocal stylings from Harvest with the pure emotion that is found on a Boy Sets Fire record, and the tight and devastating clean guitar riffing of Meshuggah, and you will only begin to appreciate what Poison The Well is. Fans of all genres of hardcore/metal will adore this new album. Beautifully executed, dynamically crushing, and with a spectacular live show, Miami’s newest rockers are poised to knock your socks off. Emotions and anger induced passion have never sounded this impeccably sweet when transferred to music.

This cd is amazing. Simply said. So hard, and yet so emotional. One of the best hardcore-albums to date. Buy it!

Best cd ever made by PTW. If you just started listening to PTW, then this is the cd to get first. I think this one shows their true talents. It is a hardcore record that will most likely become one of your most favorite hardcore records. If you have any questions im me on aim, punkerdag67. The best song I believe is "Artist Rendering Of Me" I saw them play it live WARPED TOUR 03 and it was just amazing shit. In conclusion I don't think you should have your doubts. If you are just starting out with Hardcore, this is the cd to start with as well.

P.S. "Tear From The Red" is also very good, but this one by far out does it & the new cd "You Come Before You" is also very good, that is there latest release, but to warn you the style is a little different. But if you like "Shai Hulud" then you will most likely like "You Come Before You"

This album is absolutly brilliant. It is sum of the best metalcore i hav herd in ages, if only bands nowadays would make music like this. There are two amazing memorable songs here (slice paper wrists, nerdy) but all the way thru it neva gets boring. i recomend for any1 into hard rocking melodic hardcore. also check out fear before the march of flames, they rock!

I've heard many hardcore albums over the past 5 years and this album stands out of most of them.As soon as u hit play on ur stereo this cd is agressive off the bat and not only is it heavy, its emotional. The greatest tracks on this record are Nerdy,Mid Air Love Message,Slice Paper Wrists,Artists Rendering Of Me,aww fuck it the whole album kicks ass. This cd is definitely worth the money and i guarentee u it wont leave ur stereo/walkman for a long time. Its still in mine! The drums on this album are very intense and the double bass is kickin(no pun intended)The guitars could be alittle better, the only problem is too much open string palm muting, but thats from the view of an aspiring hardcore guitarist. So dont be a fool and go buy this fuckin album rite now and give ur ears a good beating.

What can you say about a veteran metalcore band that is starting to get it's due recognition. With Guitar World citing "Opposite of December" as one of the 100 greatest guitar albums, your average listener has to take heed of of Poison The Well.

Jeff Moreira's vocals are the best of both worlds, being a bi-polar mix of heartfelt melody and visceral screams. Ryan Primack and Derek Miller's twin guitar assault take each song to a different level. This album should definitely be in any metalcore collection. Be sure to check out "You Come Before You," Poison The Well's greatest work to date.

Never thought I would get into metalcore and there aren't many other metalcore albums I like but, this is a keeper. More of a melodic hardcore type a guy, you know hopesfall, new poison the well, glassjaw (melodic hardcore?). Anyway its heavy as hell but you'll probably get into it no matter what you listen to.
