Four Letter Words

Kung Fu 78784

Released on April 3, 2001

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Four Letter Words represents the fruits of a long search for a new band to follow in the footsteps of the Ataris. As demos poured in, Kung Fu enlisted the Ataris help to pick the perfect band. “They have to write great songs!” “They have to be cute!” “They have to tour their asses off!” You know how it goes. Enter Antifreeze. The Ataris met them on tour in Texas last summer and they immediately clicked. Kris Roe (Ataris singer) agreed to produce their debut and the result is 14 high quality tear jerking pop punk tracks reminiscent of their Kung Fu mentors (no, not “the” Mentors) and others like MxPx and Blink 182. It is a perfect fit for the Kung Fu roster and the band is so stoked they decided to move to California, stalk the Ataris, and write more songs about what is really important to them: chicks, chicks, and chicks.

Antifreeze fell off the scene quite a long time ago, it's really sad to see a well accomplished Pop Punk group go missing. Currently listening to this album for a second time while eating a bag of Razzles, what do they have in common? They've both got great taste, they're colorful, and if you take the time to enjoy them (and don't swallow them too fast) They're an enjoyable group. Antifreeze: "Four letter words" is a great record, start to finish and covers.... well... just about every topic a heart broken loser in high school could possibly relate to. With that in mind let the record show I too was a heart broken loser in high school once, so.. I would know. And I can tell you that if you were like me and Antifreeze over here. This record is a must.

I saw this band play nearly ten years ago. They were on tour with the Ataris (both Kung Fu Records bands at the time). From my memory the singer of the Ataris did a search for what was to be a new Pop-Punk act that would sign to Kung Fu. He selected Antifreeze. I was skeptical when I first saw them play...but I have to admit this album is good. I have not heard the other CD they put out after this (also on Kung Fu), but ten years later this is one of the few pop punk (Ataris-esque) bands I can still stand to listen to. Also the art concept for the cover is cool.

I really bought this for my girlfriend because it is hard to find in stores. I had it for 2 years now and I still like it. It is a really good c.d. if your into the "pop-punk" scene. They have a mix of Ataris and Useless I.D. Just buy the c.d. the best song in my opinion is Anymore.

Simply put if you like The Ataris you'll like these. Very young pop punk from a band from Kung Fu. Poppy punk with interchanging vocals which is a nice touch. One of my fav CDS and has been for a while. Check out the songs 'Question...' and 'On and On'.

Antifreeze is pretty sweet. Ordinary is by far the best song, it totally kicks. This band uses two vocalists and their voices are completely opposites. One has the high pitched emo voice and the other has the deeper hardcore punk voice. So intertwined, its pretty fuckin bad. I bought it and have no regrets and so should you. - Copperfeliacs! "How I Feel" we come. - Mad shout to Dee and John

Well, this cd is OK. I mean, the words are good, about 4 songs I like a lot. Its a 4 overall. The turn off is the voice in some songs isnt too great. Ordinary is like the best song. Catchy, Somewhat moving, this cd is a good buy, not a best buy. Actually, go ahead a nd Click add to cart, cuz this cd is pretty good(some songs are junky) anyway. its a pretty good cd. For unsung zero fans, emoish music.

Antifreeze is definately worth checking out if you haven't heard them, and if you have then you should already have this cd. Like a big melting pot of MxPx, Allister, The Ataris, and a little Useless ID, these guys will keep your toe tapping.

This is a pretty cool emo album, but its a little too light for my taste. Don't get me wrong, these kids have talent, and the songs are well written, its just too light for me. I'd recommend it if you like The Ataris, or Useless I.D.
