Alright so I don't have much to say for New Day Rising other than its a classic Husker Du album. I enjoy Zen Arcade more but this is still awesome. Enjoy!

I didn't buy Zen Arcade on Interpunk so I'm going to put both reviews here. Zen Arcade: At first I hated this and wished that I had bought that Hot Snakes album instead but, after I listened to it a couple times through I noticed a few standout tracks, I believe they were "Standing by the Sea" and "Pink Turns to Blue". After a couple more listens I noticed more and more tracks I liked. For a while this was my favorite album. They were different, they had their own sound, probably my favorite of the SST bands. Recommended for:Fans of other Husker Du albums, fast paced hardcore with moments of artistic brilliance.

New Day Rising:At first this album was exactly what I had expected it to be; a poppier-sounding Zen Arcade. Actually that's all it is really. There's very little hardcore. It's mainly just pop songs played with a punk sound. This albums has alot of standout tracks (Girl Who Lived,Celbrated Summer,Books About UFOs) and a couple misses, not unlike Zen Arcade. Great album overall. Recommended for:Fans of Zen Arcade and maybe Dinosaur Jr.,something like that.

The last reviewer said they didn't "get" this album. That's not surprising. This band is intelligent, unlike the vast majority of people on this site. Just take a look at the ten top-selling bands. Nofx, rancid, and the like. On the first song of the war on errorism, they sing about how much they hate generic pop-punk bands. In numerous magazines and other places, they have openly admitted to not hating Good Charlotte. Hm.

no! no! no! i don't think i get it. i read the reviews for this cd, heard that it was a good band, and decided to buy this, but now i regret it. practically every song, with exception on one, sounds distorted. there's too much buzzing, the vocals are too low. other than i could berly hear anything, what i did catch wasn't all that great. i don't get the big deal with this band, and i am very good at giving music a chance. i seriously consider this cd a waste of my $.

Wow . Im new to husker Du but Damnit this Album is fucking awesome. The super freaky guitars with the poppy lyrics and melodies are just candie to the ears. i hear this band was real hard core once but in this album they sound more like punk beatle/kinks. This is a must have for EVERYBODY THAT LIKES GOOD MUSIC. One last thing I hate sublime and I cant see how any one could like that crappy pot jam band.

Ska sucks

keep it crescent fresh
