The followup to their debut "All Is Quiet" (Counterintellingence), Austin, TX chaos-machines THUMBSCREW new EP is finally available! Within Hearts of Redemption is five songs of chaotic noise-metal with just enough breakdowns thrown in. The shouted vocals are maniacal with the guitars and rhythm section pounding away at light speed. THUMBSCREW has hit the road with such bands as ION DISSONANCE, ANIMOSITY, JOB FOR A COWBOY, THE HANDSHAKE MURDERS, GAZA, THE_NETWORK, SWORN ENEMY and even SIX FEET UNDER. Recorded at Orphic Studios with Josh Wardrip (AT ALL COST).

This is suprisingly a really good cd. Think Botch and (better) Norma Jean meets Lavotchkin. If you haven't heard those bands then you're missing out. Mathy tech-metal combined with varying screaming/growling. I was very impressed. Too bad they're religious.

Thumbscrew are absolutely insane. the "WHORE" disc continues where they left off with their previous effort. if you consider yourself a fan of technical bands like Converge, Ed Gein, and Harlots then Thumbscrew will deliver. 'nough said.
