Stick To Your Guns

For What Its Worth

This City Is Burning 1

Released on November 20, 2000

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

This record perfectly combines old school style hardcore with the newer more metalcore sounding vocals are similer bands like Bleeding Through. Really there isn’t a whole lot to this release except for the fact that all the songs are well written with plenty of perfectly placed sing-alongs and heavy breakdowns sure to make the pit intense. taking parts of genres that are so close to being played out and combined them to make something completely different. For what its worth, Stick To Your Guns could very easily be the next big thing in hardcore.

This CD does not reinvent the genre (hardcore) but it sure brings a fresh breeze to the scene. Digging in different hardcore styles, this band incorporates Hatebreed-style breakdowns coupled with some fast-paced rythms a la ensign. The lead guitar has an interesting sound, knowing where to put the good octaves. My only complaint would be the lyrics. They sound alot like most of the hardcore bands (singing about unity, friendship and integrity). I'm not saying I disagree with what they say. It's only that this has been sung so many times it's starting to lose its meaning. Anyway, I can't wait to see how this band will evolve in the future (These guys are very young). You should buy this CD to garnish your hardcore collection.
