Recorded and mixed at Clay Creek studios by Nick Rotundo (Boy Sets Fire, None More Black), "Afire" is an aggressive display of melody and windmill inducing power. Eight songs unleashing the jaw-dropping energy that the genre now known as emo has long since forgotten. "Stones Throw" serves up a healthy blend of Thrice and Thursday but adds that Philadelphia sound that none can touch. "Four Count Murder" see-saws between the pent up aggression of watching someone who's had enough and can't take it anymore and the out-and-out adrenaline of a fist fight at 2 a.m.

This is a great cd. Pretty straight forward melodic punk with a bit of harcore/metal. It has awesome melodies, and the guitars keep you glued in. I love this cd.

Oh yeah good CD. This definitely gets 5 stars. Stones Throw and Four Count Murder are really good songs on this cd. The overall sound does remind me of Thrice and Thursday, but the singer definitely sounds like Kid Dynamite and even The Used in some points. Great cd...can't wait for a full length.

Amazing !!! Each and every song on this CD is freekin great. Every one. In particular, three songs - Kerosene, Four Count Murder and Tuesdays and Thursdays will become classics of the genre. Reading the words of each song, which are written out inside the CD, well,.... they're gut wrenching. They can almost write a movie about each song. Brought a lump to my throat. Can't get enough.

Also, saw Westgate at a show at the North Star Bar - in Philly. Now I understand why there is a special tag for punk bands like this from Philly. It was energizing. The singer reminds me of Kid Dynamite. This Philly Punk band is worth seeing in person. Excellent stuff. Looking forward to the next CD and seeing them tour.
