Name Taken

The Silent Game

Top Notch 2

Released on November 1, 2001

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

This band crosses the fast-paced nature of punk rock with the harmony and melody that hardcore and emo have brought to us. It is a must have! Look out for these guys!

In my opinion, this was a mediocre CD. It wasnt bad but definitely not memorable. I think they do have potential, but this CD just wasnt anything more than another anverage pop punk/emo band trying to fit in with every other complacent pop/emo band.

personally i "liked" this cd, now i have moved from a slow emo and pop punk sound, to hardcore . but at the time it was a good cd to own. so if u like emo and pop punk then purchase the cd.

I honestly bought this cd for "The Safety of Routine," and the fact that they had a fairly good song ("Someone") on the 2002 Warped Tour Comp. I didn't have high expectations when I first got a listen at it. It turned out pretty good. These songs have an edgy emo sound. I suggest "New Song" and "Waiting."

This cd is cool. If they brought out an album i would get it too. Its fast melodic punk sorta stuff and its quite catchy..... It does lack somthing, not sure what tho.

This cd is really good, Unfortunatly the recording is pretty shitty but with a better recording it would be awesome. They are more of a fast aggressive melodic punk band I would say, similar to Bigwig, Strung out, or Good riddance, and even like the other cd I'm about to review over it. If you like this band you should also check out a sweet Salt Lake band called The Crashers

this isn't one of the best cd's i own, but its still really good. this band has a lot of potential and i'm sure they're going to be big someday. "for sunday" is a truly awesome song. i'm pretty happy with this cd. the tracks are diverse and the guitar riffs are excellent.

First heard of name taken when they released 'saftey of routine' on the first atticus comp. Really enjoyed that track and later picked up the name taken/bayside split ep. Really phat songs from name taken on that so picked up this as well. Released before the split, more hardcorde and 'punk' than there recent stuff (more like thursday and taking back sunday). Not even sure which I prefer - both cds are excellent. Name taken rock!

Overrated. Plain and simple. I can get into any punk/emo/rock album if it is well done. This isn't. I have heard their new split EP with Bayside and that sucks too. Honestly, what the HELL is the fuss about? Name Taken and The Goodwill are the two most overhyped bands in the past year. Their street teams must have been working overtime because this is the most non-descript music I have heard. To put it in perspective I like/appreciate: Saves the Day, Rufio, Thrice, FSF, Alkaline Trio, Hey Mercedes, NFG and many many others. This band offers NOTHING new or REMOTELY interesting. Maybe it's just me, but I don't get it.
