This digitally re-mastered version of "Generator" contains two bonus tracks for "Heaven Is Falling" and "Fertile Crescent" that originally appeared on the split 7" with Noam Chomsky put out by Maximum Rock'N Roll in '91.
"Generator" knocks about stirringly with a steadfast, mid-tempo punk roar, keeping the songs simple but continually on the upsurge. Brett and Greg Hetson's guitars piggyback to ever-rousing heights, utilizing the essential chords and keeping limits on flashy things like solos or effects, never letting the enthusiasm or sentiment wane. With all players striving to turn each listening experience into a placard-waving melee, Bad Religion emblazons honest, dissatisfied-with-the-status-quo lyrics with an Uberpunk spirit, Greg Graffin's vocals growing more gravelly and endearing with each record. With the implicit understanding that strength lies in brevity, Bad Religion hew mighty exhortations to action out of a well-trampled happy-punk base, and the sheer motivational impact of "Generator," "Only Entertainment," "Atomic Garden" and "No Direction" sweeps clear any charges of oversimplification or sameness. Generator is a brutal noise that is louder, faster & angrier than ever! A plethora of power punching punk pedagogy.

What more needs to be said? This is somewhat of a departure from the more-frenetic punk sound of their earlier albums, but that's certainly not a weakness. Instead, this is one of the richest representations of Bad Religion's identity - if NOFX or some other band tried to cover these songs, they wouldn't sound right at all. It's not about trying to play the fastest, but crafting something surprisingly introspective as far as punk albums go. Absorbing the lyrics may actually cause your IQ to rise.

Very good Bad Religion cd, probably not as good as Suffer, No Control, or Against the Grain- but close. Has some of their best songs, maybe a couple I don't care for though. Overall still a classic, any Bad Religion fan really should have.

Super-Awesome album...I read some reviews at epitaph, and all of them are whining about the re-issue thing,if they softened the sound and shit...fuck that..it sounds great! powerful and clear this is a classic Bad Religion album and as all of their albums you can feel the friendly lyrical war between Brett Gurewitz and Greg Graffin..even though Brett wrote about 5 songs for this album, the fight is pretty close...I just don't get the 2 bonus tracks,if good to have 'em if you're HC Bad Religion fan but...they're just Fertile Crescent and Heaven is Falling(they're in this record too...can you believe that?! 2 songs repeated on the record?!)the only "Rare" thing is that these two songs were recorded with Finestone or something..that was a previous drummer and sound lil' bit shittier....but eniweys...still a great but Generator a truly classic Bad Religion...even thougn NO Bad Religion Song Can Make Your Life Complete....jaja ke mamon...later...
