I have been a fan of The Locust, since i got the Plauge Soundscapes promo. This record brings the The Locust, back to there premium sci-fi death metal days. With Dave Astor in the line up, former Cattle Decap drummer, the Locust blast some blast beat grindcore, drenched with keyboards and full chorded guitars. This album features "Hairspray Suppository", and my favorite Locust song, "Kill Rodger Hedgcock". This mini disc brings you back to the circle pit Locust days, were there were no masks, and only one mic.

Early Locust is odd. It's not really harder, the music is just less colorful then the later stuff. Also the keyboard parts are really repetitive, and unimaginative. The music gets a four but the mini disc format is a pain in the ass so I'm giving it a three.

Awsome. This is the Locust at their earliest and most immature. What they lack in the carnage you hear on the full length S/T and Plague SOundscapes they make up for in weirdness. Many of the songs were re-recorded later on the full length S/T and that makes these early versions that much cooler. Hearing from whence they came makes you appreciate their current status so much more. Pick this one up and hear when the seed was planted
