Jeffie Genetic And His Clones

Need A Wave

(Features Jeffie From New Town Animals)

Dirtnap 44

Released on March 2, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

THE NEW TOWN ANIMALS are one of the best new bands to come out of Canada in, well, ever! After exploding onto the NW scene with the best live show around, a hugely succesful debut LP on Mint Records, incessant touring of Canada, a 7" on Dirtnap as well as a slot on the Dirtnap Across The Northwest comp, NTA decided to take a well deserved break.

Enter CLONES, Jeffie Pop from NEW TOWN ANIMALS' solo record! Recorded at home and several years in the making, this release features Jeff playing all the instruments and singing 12 of the catchiest, geekiest new wave-punk-pop tunes we've ever heard. But that's not all! Since the completion of the recording, Jeff's put together a live version of CLONES, complete with other all star members of the Vancouver, BC punk scene (various NEW TOWN ANIMALS, SMUGGLERS, and lot's more!)

Wow i love the NEW TOWN ANIMALS so i was expecting good stuff from Jeffie Genetic solo band! No dissapointment. Catchy new wave mod punk filled up with Keyboards! You've got all the late 70's punk cliche in here with the 80's mod and new wave trown in this album! Take some BOYS, BUZZCOCKS, ELVIS COSTELLO, ADVERTS, BLONDIE, REZILLOS and the list goes on and on! The song are so damn cathy.....My favorite includes " Records goes Round", " SOS radiation" and " Scooter Queen". Be smart do yourself a favor and catch the wave!
