Reggie And The Full Effect

Greatest Hits '84 - '87 (Reissue)

Vagrant 395

Released on April 20, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

Nobody dares to try and get into the head of Reggie and the Full Effect mastermind James Dewees. The Get Up Kid continues to blur the line between comedy and music with the re-release of the original Reggie album, Greatest Hits 84-87. This version contains 7 new songs including the long-awaited "Lord Of The Bling" Trilogy. Some of the "Bling" tracks were unveiled during Reggie's five-week run in last year's Vagrant Tour 2003 along with Alkaline Trio and From Autumn To Ashes.

The future is a blank canvas for Reggie. With ideas flowing and the songwriting process in constant motion, look for new Reggie to pop up in all the right, and probably some of the wrong, places.

If you need something to get you moving to practice your dance moves or get some aerobic just grab your headband, athletic shoes, and a bottle of water and pop this CD in your player. Let the fun begin.

Reggie is quirky and fun, you should check 'em out. I bought this CD for the bonus tracks and they are all great. Everything I expect from Reggie. This CD has some great emo songs, more poppy songs, and just some funny stuff. Check out "Another Runaway Song" genious. If you like this, you have to get Promotional Copy and Under the Tray.

reggie (aka james dewees) is a genius! this album so infectious, after you stumble through the goofing around and the dull samples. the 'real' songs are punk/emo with lots of synths which give it a fresh sound. the bonus tracks on the reissue are all strong (not filler). there are no songs worth skipping - that's 16 songs that'll stick in your head while you bop along at work. i give it only 4 stars because of the goofy tracks that are annoying at times. buy this album if you don't have it already, and grab reggie's other two as well!

Great stuff from some of the gang from the Get Up Kids. If you are a fan of them and you have not checked this out I suggest that you do.

So yea... it's Reggie's first album plus a bunch of new and unreleased stuff. Basically I suggest this to any Reggie fan who doesn't already own the first issue. I was fortunate to not have the first album and learn it was being reissued with a couple of new songs. So yea, Greatest Hits 84-87 is full of a bunch of great songs, but I feel he's gotten better with his second and third CDs. The Lord of the Bling Trilogy is awesome because it covers three different styles and tempo of music from fast electronic hardcore (Fellowship of the Bling), to beat heavy club-thumping synths (Two Blings), to the more rock ballad with a string section and softer synths (Return of the Bling). The other songs are basically stuff he's released on comps and splits... the Slayer cover is very good considering he turned it into hardcore synth. Overall, a very nice CD to listen to while soaking yourself in the bath tub after a long day at the office.
