This is definatly not the Dead Kennedys best, but its still pretty good. Its a bit slower than their other efforts and a little experimental, but thats alright. I would buy it if you like DK but this is not a good starter cd.

Dead Kennedys? so fuck yeah you know it´s great...even though this is the famous ¨poppy¨ dk album it´s great to listen....classics like MTV get off the air and jock 0 rama stand by themselves in this record...to bad it doesn´t have the original artwork.....

Well, the Dead Kennedys are THE GREATEST punk band ever but this CD may not be the best place to start listening to them. Some of the songs are really experimental and miss the mark(at my job, chicken farm) but it still rocks mostly. Most people didnt hate MTV 'TIL THEY STARTED BECOMING the fucking dating/reality show channel. This album is also very short compared to other DK albums in terms of the number of number of tracks. The thing is it's still pretty lengthy overall which means some songs drag on way to long. This is The CD that eventually got DK into alot of bullshit trouble and I credit all of them, not just jello, for fighting for first amendment rights.Lyrically, The album still has that trademark sarcastic, topical and humorful feel that jello has always brought to anything he has done.It still gets a Five from me but if you dotn have plastic surgery disasters/in god we trust, get that first.

This is Jellos favorite...and my 2nd favorite, its really experimental new wave punk, which is pretty different than most of their stuff... i think its one of the most genious albums ever...its the most interesting sounding album of the early days, and when they do play straight ahead punk on this they make it count! "MTV GET OFF THE AIR" "JOCK-O-RAMA" and "STARS AND STRIPES OF CORRUPTION" are all some of their best, lyricwise jello is perfect as always!!!... one big shock is their is not nearly as much talkin about the scary secret police...i love love love this album with all my heart its so worth youre pretty pennies...sucks you can only buy it on here remastered...no matter what i say its gonna underestimate the genious perfection punk rock brilliance free range musical heaven which is the overly offensive FRANKENCHRIST...GREAT BOOKLET,GREAT SONGS,GREAT LYRICS,GREAT BANNED POSTER (HA YOU CANT GET IT ON HER),GREAT SONG TITLES,GREAT ALBUM TITLE, AND GREAT SOUND...A GROWING BOY NEEDS HIS FRANKENCHRIST!!!

Pretty good album altogether. They sound sort of like the ramones, but the lyrics are much better. MTV Get Off the Air is an AWESOME FRICKIN SONG!!! peace, love, and punk rock forever!!!

I have 3 Dead Kennedys cd's right now (4th is comin in like an hour) anyway...this is my favorite. It goes in this order for me: 1.) Frankenchrist, 2.) In god we trust/plastic surgery, 3.) Bedtime for Democracy. This cd is full of GREAT SONGS! Like Stars and stripes of corruption, (this and nazi punks fuck off are the two best songs DK ever had i think) also Soup is good food, Jock-O-Rama, MTV get off the air...all GREAT SONGS...This cd only has 10 songs but about 6 out of 10 are awesome. It's worth the money.
And in a side note to the people that own this place, thank you for having Acid Bath cds.
