I prefer Nobody's Darlings over this album, but still, it's quality. It's definitely a slower album. Maybe listen to it before purchasing to make sure you like it.

This alt/country/punk album is more bluesy and introspective than I usually go for. I usually listen to more energetic country that you can dance to. However, this is a very good album, from the singing, to the music, to the lyrics. I enjoy it very much.
I don't see this mentioned anywhere, but my CD came with a bonus disc containing different versions (live, acoustic, demo, or instrumental) of all twelve tracks, which is a very nice and unexpected bonus. This bonus CD is as good as the main one.

Whaddya know? Another amazing album brought to you courtesy of Lucero. This may be there best release (a dead heat between it and 'Tennessee'). It fits right in between 'Tennessee' and 'Nobody's Darlings'. It's not quite as Country as 'Tennessee' and not quite as Rocking as 'Nobody's Darlings'. But rather than the Southern Rock sound you hear in 'Nobodoy's Darlings', it's more of a Punk Rock sound. You can really here the Punk influences in this album. It's amazing Country/Punk/Rock and some of the best gruffy raspy vocals you'll ever hear.

Like everything Lucero ever records, this album is a true classic. Excellent songwriting and musicianship, alongside Lucero's truly unique style of songwriting makes this album a must have for anyone who's a fan of quality music. Going to see them in Paris soon and I can't bloody wait! New record soon too. Wish they'd release them on vinyl.

Attention: If you don't already own this cd or have stolen it via an online downloading application, slit up and down, not side to side when you kill yourself tonight. Lucero is the best alt-country band out there, and my favorite band to come out of recent times since Against Me! Do yourself a favor and buy everything you can by this artist.
