AMP Presents Vol. 1 Hardcore

(Atreyu, Every Time I Die, Give Up The Ghost, American Music Press (AMP), Poison The Well, Throwdown)

AMP 1

Released on February 10, 2004

This item is not available for purchase. Sorry!

The fine people at AMP Magazine are at it again, only this time in a different format. The first CD in a series that presents underground music genre by genre, comes out with a bang. Presenting the genre of Hard Core, AMP has pretty much assembled the cream of the crop in HC today with a nice mix of long time favorites (SICK OF IT ALL, MADBALL, INTEGRITY), new phenomenas (GIVE UP THE GHOST, MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD, TERROR, BLEEDING THROUGH), and new bands that are a must hear (THE PROMISE, FIRST BLOOD, COUNTDOWN TO LIFE). All in all- great packaging, full information about all bands and releases, and an amazing listen at a great price. This is the HC mix tape you have been waiting for.

This has to be the best comp out there, I'm not sure cause this is the first all hardcore comp I've gotten. A few bands with their early sounds on here. A Life Once Lost & Atreyu back when they still had the screaming vocals, in contrast to now where they sound like rock bands(not necessarily a bad thing, they should probably change their names, thought cause they sound like a completely different band. Every Time I Die before they had melodic vocals. Unearth with their usual half hardcore half thrash metal sound(which rules). & much more hardcore greatness. Hardcore as a whole, is the best music genre in existence. Anyone who has listened to a hardcore album & said that it sucked or didn't like it either didn't bother to read the lyrics or are a fake person in denial of who they are or their last name is Bush or Cheyney.

Not a huge fan of this type of music, but I have all the other AMP discs so I got this one. It is pretty good. Nothing individually stood out to me, all sounded the same. I am more into punk than this, but good nonetheless and a great price. Ok.

this is a good cd without a doubt. just a good comp period. there are a few bands that I'd really rather suffer the distress of the clap or good ol HPV, but for the most part it's quite tasty. I wonder how much dong poison the well and walls of jericho munched on to get on this comp. Forget the band bashing though because it is good.....

This was a really good mix of hardcore. from bands like SICK OF IT ALL and MADBALL with the new york style of hardcore, to legends like INTEGRITY. Really good comp. Buy it now.

There is some good stuff on here, cheap as chips as well. I disagree with the other guy on here, i think the Walls of Jericho track is excellent. Just buy it, its only a couple of dollars ya cheap bastards.

Nothing really new on here. Some of this stuff is just essential (Every Time I Die, Atreyu) and if you dont already own them you probably shouldnt be a hardcore fan. Some of this stuff is good (Bleeding Through, Give Up The Ghost) and some sucks ass (Walls of Jericho please break up now) like I said before, nothing new, but for a super cheap price it has a some good hardcore tunes.
